(Perrie's POV)
After being rushed to the hospital by Dahvie and Jayy and wheeled into the ER, I was undergoing alot of testing. As of now, I'm having an ultrasound to find the heartbeat of my baby. My heart was racing with fear.
The tears rushed out of my eyes as I heard thumping coming from the monitor. I gasped in happiness, covering my face as I cried.
"Don't get too happy, honey. Your baby is still alive, but do you see that reddish looking thing around it?" She asked quietly, pointing to the object
My heart sank. It was blood covering the placenta, "That's...blood,"
"Yes. You have something that's called, Placental Abruption. It's the seperation of the placenta from the wall of the uterus. It can lead to a miscarriage, stillborn, or can lead to a health pregnancy. But your in Grade Level 3, which is moderate to severe. But your in the severe part. There's too much blood surrounding the baby, and the placenta is barely hanging off your uterus." She explains sullenly
"So my baby is going to die?" I asked
"Honey, I can't tell you that right now. It all depends on what the baby wants. You just have to wait it out and see. But I can't guarantee anything for you." She said, "I am so sorry. But listen, if you do end up losing this baby, you can always have another. Usually placental abruption only happens once, and most cases have had healthy babies after." She touched my hand, giving me some comfort
"Will it be normal for me to never forget this baby and how much it's affected me?" I asked quietly
"It is very normal. My first three tries at getting pregnant, all turned to miscarriages. To this day, and I'm 50 years old and have three beautiful kids, I have never gotten over the miscarriages. It'll be okay. There's special groups that deal with this, and it's a community of mothers who've lost a child. You're not alone. Just pray and hope for the best."
"Can you tell the sex of the baby?" I asked hopefully
She looked at the monitor, moved her hand around on my stomach, and smiled, "It's a little girl,"
I laughed, "I knew my research was correct!"I was checked out of the hospital, and Dahvie and Jayy kept asking what happened.
"I have Placental Abruption. The doctor said the baby is surrounded by too much blood and will possibly die," I said
Jayy's face dropped, along with Dahvie's. They opened their arms, and I walked into them, feeling the tears pour down my pale cheeks again. My heart stung with sadness, and I could feel the tiny movement in my stomach. I placed Dahvie's hand over it, and he burst into tears, knowing that the baby I was carrying, could've just made it's last move.
"I'm so sorry!" Dahvie cried
I covered my face, sobbing, "I'm gonna lose our baby Jayy. I'm so sorry!" I cried, before running off
"PEZ! COME BACK!" Jayy screamed
I could hear their footsteps on the concrete, chasing after my fleeing body. I ran as fast as a pregnant teenager could, before I ended up at a place I never suspected I'd go back to: my mom's house. Even after what she did, I missed her and she was my mother.
I banged on the door, sobbing. I heard her footsteps, and the door opened. She gasped, "Baby?"
"Mom!" I cried, throwing myself at her
She hugged me tightly, cradling my head in her shoulder, "What happened? What's wrong? Where's the boys?"
"My baby is gonna die," I sob
Her body froze, "W-what?"
"I started b-bleeding today, and the d-doctor t-told me I had Placental Abruption and t-that the b-baby could d-die!" I sobbed
"Oh my god. Come in, sit down," She saidI walked to the all too familiar couch, bending over and crying. Mom rushed towards me, hugging me close. I felt my entire body give into her. She had the arms that could make me stop crying. I hugged her back softly, just wanting her to hold me.
"Baby, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I didn't know that you of all people could go through this. If I had just let you stay home--," Mom said, the tears in her eyes boiling
"No momma, it's not your fault. The doctor said it happened by chance. It's nobody's fault,"
"Your gonna be okay, though. I'm so sorry for kicking you out. The moment you left I felt stupid. I knew better then to set you free, but I did it anyways,"
"It's okay." I replied
I heard my phone buzzing, and I looked at it, seeing the caller ID as Jayy, "Hello?"
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU FOR AN HOUR!" Jayy screamed
"I'm at my mom's house," I replied, snifffling
"Why the hell are you there?" He said, sounding worried, "Baby..."
"I didn't know where else to go," I sob
"We'll be there in a minute," Jayy said
I hung up and sighed, "Can I use your bathroom?"
"Go ahead," Mom said, standing up
The doorbell rang, and I walked out of the bathroom, wearing some of my old shorts and a new pair of underwear. I opened the door, and I saw Jayy and Dahvie standing there. They gasped, hugging me tightly.
"Don't ever run away like that! You had us worried sick!" Dahvie cried
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't handle it," I apologized
"It's gonna be okay, I promise you," Jayy said, taking me into his arms
I hugged him back, feeling his sorrow radiating off his body.
