Kuroo POV:

We took the train into town and quickly separated from Kenma's mom, saying we'd meet her back at the station by around 3.
Currently it was just after 11.

"You wanna go to the games store?"
"Yes" Kenma replied. There was something really wrong if he said no to going to the game shop. I figured I might as well ask about the party on our way over there.

"Oya, Kenma," I looked down at him, and he looked up at me. "Yeah?"

"Bokuto texted me asking if I'd wanna go to a party this evening."

"Oh yeah, Shoyo asked me too." He responded, his hands tucked into the rather large hoodie pocket.

"Well, you wanna go?"

"I dunno..." Kenma replied, looking at his feet.

"Cmon it'll be fun!" I playfully elbowed him in the shoulder, smirking.

"Yeah, but you'll go off with Bokuto and Akaashi and I'll just sit on my phone."

"What if I promise not to do that?"

"Maybe."

"We'll have fun! I promise to stick by you. Hinata will be there too, and I'm sure Lev will show up as well."

He let out a sigh as we approached the store.
"Yeah alright. I guess I'll go since I know you'd probably convince me anyway. You promise to stay with me though?" He smiled up at me.

"Oh you know me so well, pudding head." I said scrunching my nose as I got the door for him. "I promise."

~~~~~~~
We spent the afternoon in central Tokyo, grabbing some street food and eating it outside a cafe for lunch. I mainly did the talking as Kenma had purchased a new game for his switch earlier, and it kept him pretty preoccupied for the rest of the afternoon.
At one point we split up, as I needed to get some new socks, and Kenma said he needed to go pick up some things from a clothes store nearby. He came back with a pretty large bag, but I didn't question it.
At 3pm, as promised, we met his mom, and went back to their house. I packed up and told Kenma I'd meet him outside around 6 to drive us to the party.
Back at my house I tried to figure out what to wear. When I finally settled on something, I decided to kill what remaining hours were left with volleyball.
At around 5 I called it quits and showered before styling my hair and getting changed. I put on some extra cologne before heading downstairs, explaining that I'd be out for the night again to my dad as I grabbed some left over food from the fridge.
He told me to take the car, which I couldn't say no to, and was quite hoping he'd offer. Though for some reason he winked when handing over the keys. I guess he thought I'd be taking that girl from school with me. Damn, what was her name? I'll figure it out on Monday, I thought to myself spinning the keys on my first finger as I headed out the door.
I drove up about 100 feet to Kenma's house, and honked the horn. I unrolled the window resting my free arm on the side of the car.
A couple seconds later I heard a ping from my phone. It was a text from Kenma saying he'd be out in just a second.
I turned up the radio while I waited.
Pretty soon the front door opened and out came Kenma.
Holy shit, I thought. He looks... really good. I could tell he wasn't very confident, but he looked, well, great. He looked great.
He wore a deep red turtleneck, French tucked into some high waisted black jeans that were ripped at the knees.
On top of that, he had some platform Doc Martens on giving an extra couple of inches to his height.
He had pinned part of his hair back with 2 red bobby-pins, and increased the thickness of the winged eyeliner he wore as well.
I didn't even know he owned that outfit, but I wasn't complaining.
I looked over and unlocked the door as Kenma entered silently.
"lookin' good." That was what I chose to say? I couldn't believe that had just escaped my mouth. I turned the radio up even further, embarrassed, and we began to drive.
