Kuroo POV:
My grandma must have been cooking all day because it was pretty much a feast of food. Kenma ate a lot despite being nervous, but I guess practice had worn him out a bit.
"So will you be staying the night Kenma?" My grandmother winked at him, and I choked on my drink.
Coughing and slamming the table I attempted to talk:
"N- no, it's,""Yes I probably will."
I've never whipped my head as fast as I did just then. Kenma snickered, clearly knowing what he'd just done.
When I had finally felt like I could breathe again I responded more properly.
"It's nothing like that. We spend every Friday night together because Kenma tutors me."
"Right! That's all I was asking Kuroo! No need to fuss like that."
My grandmother smiled and continued eating. I looked between her and Kenma, who were both snickering now.
I shook my head in disbelief as I continued to eat.About an hour later the meal more or less had ended. It had gone as well as I could have ever hoped for and I suggested we invite Kenma's mom next time.
"Thank you very much for the food, it was delicious." Kenma said getting up from the table.
"Yeah, we should probably get started before it gets too late." I said, excusing myself too.
We headed up to my room and Kenma set up as usual.
"Wait Kuro, I don't have my textbooks or anything here.""Yeah, I know. I just figured you'd want to evacuate from the dinner table pretty soon."
"Well what are we gonna do then?"
"Whatever you want."
"I didn't bring any games, and that's what I'd typically want to do."
"Haha, well we can figure something else out."
A moment or so passed, "Kuro it's been awhile since I spent the night here. Where's the blowup bed?"
"Doesn't matter because you get the bed this week."
"Okay, but where are you going to sleep? I'm... well, I'm not exactly comfortable, uh.. you know like, sharing a bed."
Kenma hunched over slightly, looking away from me. I didn't really know how to answer him, even though I felt the same."It's alright. I'm not either." I smiled at him, my mouth full of toothpaste.
"That's gross." Kenma smiled.
I returned to the bathroom and spat.
"I'll find the blowup bed, or just sleep downstairs, don't worry about it." I winked and grinned at him.The time was around 9pm.
"You don't have any games at all Kuro?" He asked me, clearly panicking.
"I have board games?"
"No."
I laughed at his response.
"Yeah I'm afraid there's not much up here."

Kenma's POV:That was for sure. Kuroos room was pretty bland. He had a couple posters, a massive periodic table, and a bookshelf with genres ranging from cookbooks to an encyclopedia.
Besides that was his bed, desk, and a singular house plant that he'd had since we met. It was a lucky bamboo, which he explained his mom had bought him.I gave in.
"Well what board games do you have then?" I asked."Twister?"
"In your dreams.""Monopoly?"
"Kuro there's literally only two of us.""Uno?"
"After last time: absolutely not.""Hmm.. what about chess?"
I thought for a moment. Kuroo was actually really good, and had taught me a couple years ago.
"Alright sure."He returned with the game and jumped onto his bed, before setting it up. I joined him.
"Pick a hand." He said after picking up one black piece and one white and shuffling them behind his back.
I touched his right hand, and he opened it revealing a white pawn.We played, and he won. No surprises there, but I had still enjoyed myself. By now it was a quarter past 10.
I yawned."You ready for bed?" He asked me.
I nodded in response.Kuro left to go find the blow up bed but returned a couple minutes later empty handed.
"So apparently it was old and my dad got rid of it... we can sleep feet to head?"
"Oh, uhm yeah, that's fine."
It was still a bit awkward since neither of us had really asked the other out officially and were just in the know of liking one another. Still,
Kuroo got into bed first and took the bottom of the bed, giving me the top."Goodnight pudding head."
I smiled,
"Goodnight Kuro."A/N: y'all this is so short I'm- I'll post another one today hopefully lol sorry
