"Patton? Are you alright?" Logan asked concern etched on his face as he looked at his normally bubbly counterpart sitting across from him. Patton immediately looked up from where he had been staring at the ground and flashed a wobbly smile at him.
"Yep, I'm good, Lo! Why'd you ask?" Patton questioned, letting out a little giggle. Logan looked down at his coffee, frowning ever so slightly. He wasn't quite sure why he'd asked, but something about Patton had seemed darker. But then again, Logan had only met him in person a few months ago, perhaps he just came across more bubbly virtually.
"Because you always smile like you're about to cry." Logan finished his thought out loud and then looked up, worried he had maybe offended his... Well, his only friend. Patton bit his lip and his sky-blue eyes promptly filled with tears, alarming Logan. The serious, dark-haired male set down his coffee and crossed the small space between them to sit next to Patton on the couch.
"I-I'm sorry, Logan, I know this isn't what you expected-" Patton began, burying his face in his hands, trying to muffle his sobs. Logan frowned, his worry increasing drastically.
"Whatever do you mean, Patton? I expected you, if you're going through something that is making you feel this way then I want to help..." Logan replied, surprise causing him to stop talking. Patton had turned and latched around Logan's waist, sobbing into the taller male's shirt. Logan, despite not having a watch on him, knew that they stayed in that position for precisely 32 minutes, until Patton's sobs quieted down and he grew composed enough to tell Logan what was going on.
"A-A-And, so, I just... Wanted to put up a happy front for you, so you wouldn't leave me too..." Patton whispered, looking down at his clasped hands. Logan sat there, processing all of the information for a second. He looked up to find Patton close to tears again and without thinking, Logan leaned forward and wrapped his arms around him.
"I'm not going to leave you because you are in mourning for your best friends, Patton. You- Well, you're my only friend, for starters. Not to mention, you light up my world in a way no one has ever done, you make me feel things I didn't know were possible. Whenever I got a notification from you I immediately broke out into a smile, alarming several of my coworkers, who haven't seen anything like that from me before." Logan told him, his voice quieter than it normally was. He smiled a small smile and Patton leaned back, blushing.
"I-I'm not ready... For anything, right now... But, maybe, would you wanna go on a date with me in say, a month or two?" Patton asked shyly, looking down once more. Logan flushed a fierce red and opened his mouth only to have no words come out. "Yes." Logan finally replied, his voice cracking. "I'll wait as long as I have to for you."
