"Your city is in ruins. You are-" Virgil stopped short, his gloves half-off, and he raised an eyebrow. He continued down the last of his stairs, finishing taking off his gloves, still confused when he came to a stop on the stone ground. "You are wrapped in my cape."
And sure enough, the princely hero was. Swaddled in the thick fabric, only Roman's face still visible, his expression torn between a pout and a scowl. "It's cold down here and you left it in reach. If you weren't so stuck up as to not heat your lair while keeping me prisoner down here in this dark place, I wouldn't have had to resort to thievery." Roman replied, trying to sound as righteous as he could whilst being wrapped up in something that most certainly was not his. Roman was annoyed with himself for stealing, but then again it was a villain's possession. He couldn't help it either, his own cape had been too thin and Virgil's cape really had just been right there, lying within reach of the cold hero.
"You look adorable," Virgil said, forcing sarcasm into his voice. Because Roman did. He looked adorable and warm and perfect. The hero rolled his eyes and promptly stood up, causing the cape to fall to the ground. Virgil turned slightly, facing the large window that looked out on their city, Brighton. The majority of it was on fire or in ruins and Virgil felt the tiniest bit bad for wrecking so many homes, but it wasn't as if the city didn't have it coming. Roman crept up and joined Virgil, two opposites side-by-side as they watched their home burn to the ground.
"So many years spent protecting it for this to happen... Ugh, I know I'm a hero but really, I could've been doing so many other things with my life." Roman lamented and Virgil half-laughed, half-snorted. Roman glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, surprised to see the villain actually smiling for once. It was actually kind of cute, now that Roman thought about it.
"It's fine, there's no one to judge you here. Besides, you never could've beat me, it was ridiculous for you to even try. You did rather well in battle though, but I just am more experienced." Virgil explained, walking away from the window and the desolate scenery. He moved to the kitchenette area near the back of this floor, pouring himself a shot of whiskey. Roman followed, taking a seat at the bar, motioning for Virgil to pass him a shot as well. They both took their shots at the same time, the villain of the room letting out a satisfied sigh while the hero spluttered, deciding he didn't like whiskey very much.
"You should keep the cape, it looked cute on you," Virgil told Roman, causing the latter's face to turn a million shades of red and his mouth to open. Virgil smirked smugly and turned around, walking towards his bathroom. "I'm gonna take a shower, feel free to adjust the thermostat... If you can find it." He finished and threw a wink over his shoulder to the flustered hero sitting at his bar.
