Patton woke up warm, which wasn't unusual in and of itself, but he could also feel a very real arm around his waist, which caused some alarm to him. He opened his eyes cautiously, surprised to be met with a familiar face. A slightly blurry familiar face, but Patton still knew very well who it was. Shit, shit, shit- Please tell me I didn't make contact with Logan while I was in littlespace. Patton flushed as memories of yesterday washed over him and he cursed himself out internally for calling Logan 'dada'. He tried to wriggle from Logan's grip without waking him and froze when he heard a slight grumble come from the logical side.
Logan didn't want to wake up. He knew that if he did, he would have to ask Patton about the events that had happened...yesterday? And honestly, all he wanted to do was stay in this peaceful bubble and not think about reality that was sure to be crashing in at any second, pretty much. But it was already too late, his mind was rushing a mile a minute as it reasoned and sorted through the events that had happened prior. He opened his eyes reluctantly and was met with a bright-red Patton. As far as he could tell anyway, the blob was Patton. He groaned and rolled over to his other side, grabbing the pair's glasses.
"I-I, um, about yesterday..." Patton began after he'd put his glasses on, unsure as to where to start. Logan huffed and sat up, rubbing his eyes before he too put his glasses on. Patton bit his lip, worried about what that small huff meant. Does he not care? Does he just want to forget it happened? Does... does he not wanna be friends anymore?
Actually, all the huff meant was that Logan wasn't a morning person or very sociable until he'd had coffee. At least two cups. Said not-morning person yawned and stretched before turning slightly, so that he was facing the moral side.
"We-We can just, um, forget about it, if you want... Just, p-please stay my fw-friend, Logan." Patton said softly, looking down at his lap as his eyes filled with tears. He was trying desperately not to cry and also not to slip, which was difficult. Logan looked at him in surprise and without thinking, pulled him into a hug.
"Of course I'm going to stay as your friend, Patton. Actually, I happen to know a bit about all of... this, and I was wondering if you have a caregiver?" Logan asked hesitantly and Patton blushed in embarrassment, sniffling.
"N-No... No one knows except, um, you." Patton replied quietly and Logan smiled lovingly. Although Patton couldn't see it, given that they were still hugging, Patton half on Logan's lap. "Well, in that case, would you maybe... Consider, having me as one?" He asked and Patton gasped, near-inaudibly.
"Obviously, I would have to do more research and get familiar with it, but... I don't know, surprisingly. You just make me actually feel things besides mild annoyance and indifference. Of course, if you wanted someone different, I don't mind that either." Logan quickly added and it was Patton's turn to smile lovingly. He squeezed Logan tightly, whispering a quick and simple yes in his ear. He leaned back and pressed a kiss to Logan's cheek, leaving the logical side beet-red and malfunctioning.
Ahhhhhh- Okay, was it just me or was this oneshot freaking adorable? Logicality always makes my heart warm 🥺💜🏳️🌈...
