Leon tightened his grip on my hand, forcefully pulling me back to his side

Leon tightened his grip on my hand, forcefully pulling me back to his side. I shot him a frustrated glare, wondering if, just this once, he could let me embrace this moment of recklessness.

I comprehended the direness of the situation. Austin's warriors had locked onto my presence, their weapons trained on me, and many had their guns aimed directly at my head.

Despite the imminent danger, I remained steadfast, adrenaline surging through my veins. I was ready to embrace the energy coursing within me, a response to the wind's elusive whisper.

We were all ready for what was about to unfold, not just me but each one of us.

As the wind began to stir, I kept its influence subtle, careful not to arouse suspicion among the approaching warriors. They charged toward me, their weapons at the ready.

Behind me, Leon finally grasped my intentions, realizing the source of my confidence.

I couldn't help but smirk, knowing that the wind would soon answer my call. It began to blow stronger, causing most of the men to stumble and fall, their weapons clattering to the ground.

Their expressions of surprise mirrored my satisfaction.

Swiftly, I picked up one of the fallen guns, a sly grin playing on my lips as I locked eyes with a bewildered warrior.

"Thanks," I said nonchalantly, smirking, before making my exit.

Though some of the men managed to regain their footing more swiftly, Leon and Lily emerged from their positions, engaging them in combat.

Four imposing figures approached me, their guns aimed steadily at my form. A fiery determination surged within me, and with calculated precision, I disarmed them one by one, forcing them to drop their weapons.

In the next instant, I pulled the trigger, taking them all down with shots to their hearts. Their lifeless bodies crumpled to the floor, leaving behind a chilling silence.

I rejoined Lily and Leon, and together we cleared the path, moving toward the house's entrance.

Inside, chaos reigned. Tables and chairs were overturned, and John immediately spotted us, rushing over to provide an explanation.

"Our pack was under attack," John explained urgently. "Austin and his men barged in, opening fire indiscriminately. I swiftly ushered the children and other pack members into the emergency room."

"I called upon our warriors to confront them, but Austin wielded some dark magic. I can't explain it, but he chanted words, and all our warriors fell incapacitated," John continued.

"And now," he added, voice trembling with concern, "he's in the emergency room, trying to break in and harm the children and people inside."

"We have to go there now," I declared, determination fueling every step we took.

Navigating through the darkened corridors, we arrived at the emergency room to find it inundated with Austin's men.

As we crossed the threshold, a voice rang out, taunting us, "Looking for me? I was expecting you."

"What a surprise," Austin sneered, his tone dripping with mockery. "You've finally come into your powers—the wind and fire. Impressive work dealing with my warriors. But these warriors here are the best I have."

"Enough of this," I snapped impatiently.

I attempted to summon the wind, but nothing responded. A sense of panic welled up inside me as I strained harder, trying to coax my powers to life. Leon and Lily exchanged concerned glances as my abilities remained elusive.

"Why isn't it working?" I voiced my frustration aloud.

"Oh, I forgot to mention," Austin sneered, a wicked grin stretching across his face. "This place is underground, isn't it? The walls and doors are reinforced to nullify your powers. Your wind abilities won't work down here." His triumphant tone sent a shiver down my spine.

He took a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at me.

"You come over here, without any weapons or gun. Or else, " Austin said as he took a small boy from there and pointed the direction to his head instead.

"I will kill him instead. And after, all those people inside as well. Also, ask your mate and his whatever sister and the rest of the warriors to get out of here." He shouted.

Tears streamed down the little boy's face as Austin's grip on his hand tightened, his sobs growing louder and more desperate.

"Go," I urged them, my voice steady but with a hint of urgency.

Their worried expressions showed they thought I was taking an immense risk, and for good reason. Leon approached me, determination in his eyes.

"I'll find a way to come back and help you," he promised firmly.

I nodded in acknowledgment, gratitude evident in my eyes.

As they left, I found myself standing alone, facing the grim reality that the true battle was just beginning. The odds were overwhelmingly against me – it was fifty against one.

"Release the boy now. I've already let them go!" I demanded, my voice unwavering, refusing to show any weakness in front of Austin.

Austin let him go and said "Today I will kill you, the person who was once my mate. I will take all your powers."

"The only reason I wanted to be mates with you at that time was all because you had the power to help me overthrow and become the biggest pack in the werewolves."  He laughed.

"But you left me, ran away,  thinking you would get a happily ever after with alpha Leon. So now, I will kill you and let you see me slowly take away this pack." He raised his gun and pointed it at me.

His men all had arrows and guns as they pointed them at me.

I focused all my energy on the flames in my palms, determined to use them as a weapon against Austin's men. However, every attempt I made was met with failure; the fire extinguished itself almost as soon as it ignited.

Austin, seeing my futile efforts, couldn't help but taunt me. "Don't bother. It won't work. Before you came in, I already sprayed a special gas to prevent any flames from catching."

The realization dawned on me: there was no easy way out this time.

Austin's question hung heavy in the air, and I could feel the sweat trickling down my skin, my eyes throbbing, the piercing screams echoing in my ears, and my heart pounding against my chest. It was as if time had slowed down, and I closed my eyes, steeling myself for the impending pain and darkness.

Then, unexpectedly, I felt a sensation of weightlessness as my legs were slowly lifted off the ground. My hair swirled around me, and my hands emanated a brilliant light. I had no control over my body; it seemed to have a mind of its own.

I soared above Austin's men, my voice uttering an incantation that even I didn't fully comprehend.

All of them fell to the floor and died. The only one there left was Austin.

Now, it had come down to a one-on-one showdown
