Ch.12 : Stupid 'If' and Worries

Mew's POV

I look at them. They are talking happily. But, their closeness is suspicious for me. Hmmm... I know uncle really well. And, he isn't a type who would use his power to help his nephew or his friend's son. This case also isn't type of cases that special forces would handle too. Oh, right! Instead of thinking this, I should tell uncle about last night.

"Uncle... Can you come here awhile? There is something I should tell you..."

"Hm? What is it, Mew?"

"Before I fainted, I remembered something that I can't remember in these 17 years. Finally, I can remember that accident even just a little."

"W-w-what d-did you see, Mew?", he stutters.

"I saw Mama, Papa, and I were on the road to the mountains. But suddenly, our car plunged into a lake. Mama and Papa pushed me to go out first because their seat belts stuck. After that... After that... Mama and Papa smiled at me... After that..."

I try to control my emotion. But, I just really can't. The longer I talked about this, the more pain I felt. With just rewind those memory, my eyes become teary.

"Shhh... Don't continue it, son... It will just hurt you...", uncle hugs me and I sink myself in his warmth.

Author's POV

Gulf sighs in relieve. But, he is afraid Mew will remember more in the future. He feels guilty. He thinks he only bring troubles. Since he came back into his phi's life, nothing good happened. 

"P'Boat, is there anything else we should do? If no, I will excuse myself first.", Gulf is emotionless.

"I think no. But, if I may ask, where will you go?"

"I just need some times alone. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine."

"You sure?"

"Yes..."

"O-okay...", the whole team knows there is something wrong with Gulf. 

"Goodbye, phi-phi."

Gulf takes his belonging. He walks to door soullessly. When he passes the patient's bed, he stops there for awhile.

"Uncle, please don't ask your men to follow me. I really want to be alone. Goodbye, uncle. Goodbye, phi.", he leaves the room after saying that.

Uncle is speechless. No, everyone in the room is speechless. Gulf who usually cheerful suddenly becomes sullen and expressionless. They are more worried because he said goodbye to everyone. But, they respect his wish and let him alone. Uncle also doesn't send some people to follow him.

Gulf's POV

I sit on a coffee shop at hospital while thinking. I sigh. If he recovers all his memory, will it be too painful for him? Can he even accept that? Should I just stay away from him? If it stops him from recovering his memory, then I'll gladly do it. I will do everything to protect him.

Gosh! What are you thinking, Gulf! If is only if. Remember your goal! Your struggle to get here hasn't been easy at all. Don't you remember how hard it is to go back here after that incident? Don't you remember how hard it is to enter Criminology department? Will you give up just because of some stupid 'if' and worries?

Sigh... It doesn't help. Maybe I should go for awhile, forgetting all these problems. I think it's the best for now. I hope everything would be better.
