Chapter 28

Luciano's POV

I got there in the nick of time just to see A guy man handling my mate. I let out an angry growl as Esme ran up to me

"Are you okay orchid? Are you hurt?" I asked checking if she had any scratches. "No I'm good, my wrist is a little sore. By the way, this is Jack" she said pointing towards a guy standing in front of the restroom. "He tried to kidnap me" I couldn't hold my anger anymore as I grabbed him by the collar

"How dare you try to take my mate? Who do you think you are to even touch her?" I growled angrily at him

"Let go of me before I do something you'll regret" I pushed him to the restroom door and turned to my sister. "Take Esme home right now." Then I turned to the other girls. "Two of you follow suit" I turn back to the boys and crack my neck and knuckles

"I won't leave you, I want to stay with you" I heard Esme say before she moved to stay in front of me. As of now I was now backing the boys. "If you want to stay just stay as far away as possible" I say to Esme before turning back to Jack

I grab his throat and look him dead in the eyes. "If you want my mate, you're going to have to go through me. Face me like a man" just as I release him I punched his face and motion to Esme to leave

"Luciano look out" before I know it Esme pushed me to the side and took my place in front of Jack. Not long after she fell to the ground and I saw Jack with a fist to the air. I looked down at my mate and her nose was bleeding 'he punched her? He freaking punched her'

"I'm so going to kill him, he hurt mate" Max said in my head before I let him take full control.

Max swiped Jack's legs and he fell to the ground. He got over Jack and started punching him in the jaw. "TAKE MY MATE OUT OF HERE" Max yelled at Danny using his Alpha tone. After a few more punches Max was pulled away by my Beta. Jack was bloody and unconscious and the other two scurried away

Then I gained control over my body again and I was taken outside by my beta where Esme laid on the floor. I almost cried when I saw Esme bleeding out profusely from her nose. "Why did you do that? Why did you take the punch? Why do you have to be so stubborn? I told you to stand back, didn't I?" I asked not knowing if at all she could hear me.

"I wanted to protect you. I did it for you. And I wasn't being stubborn" she said with a pain filled voice. I picked her up bridal style and took her to the car. We drove to the infirmary and the doctor saw to it that she got help.

Thirty minutes had passed, still no word from the doctor. I sat still on the chair in infirmary corridor. I was uneasy and Max was on edge. The doctor rushed out and I ran up to him. "Is she okay? How's she doing?" I asked

"Calm down Alpha, the Luna is doing great. She just needed a few stitches. She's ready to go home"

I ran off to go see my mate, she was sitted upright in the bed and smiled when she saw me. I engulfed her in a hug and took her hands in mine after I released her.

"I admire what you did Esme, now I know you can put your life on the line for me and our pack, and that is what a good Luna is all about. I admire you and appreciate you a lot"

"Ohh stop it. It's really nothing, look I'm okay now. Can we just go home" my mate says and I nodded before lightly kissing her cheek.

"She's only got a few bruises on both her wrists and with this bandage on, her nose will heal within a period of 24 hours. But she'll be fine. You can take her home now" the pack doctor says, explaining her current situation, I thank him and he leaves the room.

We're currently at the infirmary and Esme is picking up her stuff because we're about to leave.

She stands close to the door holding her things and I grab onto her waist and pull her closer

"You know you're one stubborn mate, right?"

"Oh really, I guess you'll just have to get used to it then" she drives me crazy when she bites her lower lip. My wolf growls, pleasure filled in my head and I flash her a grin

"Normally I would punish you for disobeying me, but I guess I can't"

"Why not?"

"Because I'm in love with you Esme, yes, I love you"

"I-i love you, Luciano. I'm in love with you too" my heart flutters when she says Luciano because I know then, she's serious.

I was about to pull her in for a kiss before I noticed her scent changed. Her orchid scent now had a different smell, like that of desperation, maybe horniness... 'She's already in heat'

"I'm sure you know what that smell is Princess?"

"Yeah, I'm in heat. Can we go home now"

Heat is a period when female werewolves get a burning sensation between their legs and have the urge to want to mate with their mates, you know, have sex... It happens to humans too and other creatures that are mated to werewolves. And sex is compulsory as it is the only thing that can quench the fire between their legs.

The drive home was quiet and breezy. I took my mate upstairs and gently put her down on the bed. I went to shower and I obliged her to do the same. I got out, dried up and put on my pyjamas. Esme walked in with a night gown that looked a teeny bit exposing. It was also short but she had her sleeping robe on.

"Umm, Jerry" she called out and I looked up to her

"Yes Princess" I said as I motioned for her to sit close to me

"I want to mate with you. I want to complete the mating process" I was stunned and decided to turn to her. I took her hands in mine and looked her deep in her eyes

"Do you really want this? Forget the heat, are you sure you want this?" She nodded as she assured me she was ready

"Okay then princess, I guess I just have to grant your wish" I said before roughly pulling her into a kiss.

Wow, it's finally going to happen I guess🤷🏽‍♀️.
