Chapter 41

Esme's POV

I fluttered my eyes open and saw that I was in a room different from mine. I took some time to raise my back and I looked around and it turned out to be a dispensary ward. At that very moment I was numb from pain and I decided to lay my back on the pillow finally.

That was when I realized that Luciano was in the room the entire time staring daggers into my eyes. "Mmhmm, Alpha. It's good to see you again. How are..." He didn't let me finish as he engulfed me in a tight hug. We remained in that position until he broke it and kissed me on my forehead.

"How are you? Does it hurt? Do you need a doctor? Is the pillow..." Here we go again.

"Whoaaa, slow down horsie. I'm fine, just a little hurt. I'm feeling much better"

"Are you sure? I was filled with so much pain when you got shot, I was out of control. I just couldn't think straight, I just acted" What the hell did your dumb ass do now, babe?

"And... What did you do? Cause I know you, so spill it?" I asked hoping he wouldn't say anything stupid.

"I just got pissed and slaughtered Jefferson with your Katana. Then I realized that he was going to be a dad"

'For fucks sake, Luciano...'

"Wait, Lana's pregnant?" I asked after processing what he said.

"No no, not Lana, Stephanie. She used to be Jefferson's lover. She was devastated but realized it was for a good cause. She wants no trouble she just wants to be free. And I think she deserves that much."

"Makes sense" I thought

"As for Jake, I tortured him until he finally gave up and, oh well, he's dead Princess"

"What about Lana? How'd she end up?" I wanted juicy details cause that bitch fucked my life up at the point where I ought to be completely happy.

"The girls dealt with her, she's dead though. Everything is fine princess, speaking of the girls..." Just then my girl's rushed in and hugged me tightly.

"Bitch I'm glad you're okay, we were so scared" Alley was literally kissing my face.

"Gross, bitch stop kissing my face. I thought I'd wake up and see you pregnant?"

"As if, bitch I ain't ready." She said with all assurance, I just rolled my eyes.

"Babygirl, it took you so long to wake up, the house seems empty without you" Danny held my hands up to her face and snuggled them on her cheeks, I smiled.

"I'm fine, how is James? How are both of you doing?" I asked realizing she hasn't moved yet.

"We're fine, his parents are getting us a house just down by the meadows so I'll be leaving soon, at least I'll be close to home" I was satisfied with her answer.

"Hey fighter, what took you so long to wake up?" Fania said kissing my forehead.

"You guys should have shot me awake" I said earning a glare from my mate and I pouted back.

"You're not looking too good, you need to fix your hair." Alley stated

"Yeah, you know you're kinda ugly when you don't" Fania bluntly said, Luciano glared and I rolled my eyes.

"My orchid looks beautiful either ways" he walked up to me. "I'll leave you guys to talk, I'll go get our parents. Take care beautiful" he said and winked at me causing me to bite my lower lip.

"Cough cough cough, ummmm, we're still here" Alley said.

"Get your own dispensary ward bitch. Seriously Alley you look 2 weeks gone, are you sure you're not expecting" I was trying to tick her last nerves and it seemed to be working.

"Esme for fucks sake I'm not pregnant, even if I was, I have a mate. It's normal isn't it, can y'all fucking leave me alone. I'm stressed out, uggghhh" With that she walked out

'That was swell'

"What's up with her, she wouldn't have reacted that way" Fania mentioned.

"Na na, something's up" Danny piped in.

"I'll find out later" just as I said that my family walked in

"Esme!!!" They all yelled

'Ohhh boy!!!'

"Esme we're so glad that you're awake. Are you okay? How do you feel?" Mum was being paranoid again

"Mum, I'm fine honestly. Dad, how are you both?"

"Ohhh we're good Princess, how're you holding up?"

"I'm doing quite alright Dad"

"We have really missed you a lot, Princess. Can't wait to start having grandchildren. Erianna looks like she could pop out my first grandchild any moment from now, just look at her" we all laughed and she chuckled from embarrassment.

"Ohhh c'mon papa, I'm just due in a few days... How are you little sis, I was so worried about you, so much so that I scolded Luciano. I was so scared that I'd lose you, as a matter of fact everyone was scared"

"Whoaaa sis calm down, it's not good for the baby. I'm fine honestly. Where is Ethan?"

Just then he walked in.

"Here I am baby sister. What took you so long to wake up?"

He asked as he kissed me on my forehead and walked back to hold his mate. They looked so cute together, made me remember My Alpha.

"I'm okay you guys. Where are Aunt Elena and Uncle Steve? I haven't seen them yet."

"Ohhh they're with Alley. By the way, the doctor said you can leave whenever you want, you've been discharged Sis."

I smiled... Then I remembered Alley was in an off mood. Obviously something was bothering her and it seemed to be something that had to do with she and Stephan.

"Ummm, I'll be back, I want to go check up on Alley. We have a pending discussion."

"Okay sis, just take care. Alley is by the cafeteria"

"Thanks sis. Just tell Luciano to wait for me, please Erianna"

"Yh sure, just take care, okay?"

I stepped out of the room and made my way to the corridor. I looked around and saw the signpost and it pointed to the direction of the cafeteria. I quickened my pace and spotted her sitting on one of the infirmary benches just by the cafeteria.

"Alley" I called out and she looked up at me

"Hey Esme"

I sat close to her and she offered me some Mango ice cream. Now I knew something was wrong. When we were little, Alley and I used to comfort ourselves with mango products when we were disturbed or troubled.

"What's wrong
Alley? Look, I know something's wrong. This isn't the Alley I used to know. What exactly is the problem, it's hurting me to see you this way. Please talk to me, I'm your best friend"

She sighed and it looked like she would tear up soon, her eyes were looking heavy.

"Esme... I'm scared"

That was weird. Alley is almost never scared of anything.

"Scared of what Alley?" I asked still surprised

"I'm... I'm scared of Conceiving"
