Chapter 43

Ethan's POV

Happiness... That was an understatement. Blatant Joy was what I was currently experiencing. Looking at my mate holding my baby boy was one of the most beautiful sights I've seen.

He was so little, so fragile, so vulnerable, so innocent. 'Hmmm, babies are beautiful' I sighed. I grabbed my phone and with it's camera I took a picture of Anna holding our child.

She looked up to me and smiled. "Have you thought of a name yet, Ethan?"

A name? I haven't even thought about a name. What name should be fitting of an Alpha? Then it hit me.

"Ezra Everson" I said and took him in my arms. "the next Alpha of the blood moon pack"

My mate smiled at me as my sister went over to give her a hug.

"I'm proud of you, sis. You did it" she said amidst tears. "Are you crying Esme?" Anna asked her and she nodded.

"Well yeah, it's just that, we used to play together by the ocean shores and now you're a mum. It's too overwhelming"

"Ohhh don't cry little sis, I'll always be your big sister, we can hangout some other time. I'm still here" Anna said and Esme nodded

"Don't worry orchid, soon it'll be our turn" Luciano said and everyone started laughing.

I moved closer to my mate and whispered to her ears "You're the best mate I could have ever been blessed with. And now you'll be the best mother our children would ever be blessed with" and then I kissed her head and she smiled.

"Ummm Orchid, we forgot about Alley. Danny said she's in the room close to yours. We've got to go" my brother in law said.

"Okay umm, bye Anna take care. C'mon, let's go see Alley" Esme said as they both left

Esme's POV

Locating Alley's room wasn't difficult, in no time we were there.

"Alley, OMG, are you okay?" She was quiet for a while.

"She's been like this since she heard the doctor's report Esme" Fania said as she approached us with water.

"Well what did the doctor say?" Luciano asked obviously as curious as I was.

Danny was about to answer then the doctor walked in and I decided to ask myself.

"Doctor, ummm what did you say was wrong with my friend?"

"Ohh no, there's nothing wrong with her, it's rather good news. Congratulations Luna, your friend here is 7 days pregnant"

"So Stephan's gonna be a dad? Before me? Definitely not what I was expecting" Luciano said and I tugged at his arm that it wasn't really a good time.

"Where's Stephan?" I asked just then he walked in.

"Alley, is it true? Are you pregnant?" Stephan was looking confused, very confused

"Ummm yeah, 7 days" Alley managed to reply

"Ohhh... Oh my God, this is the best news I've ever heard in a very long time"

Now Alley was the confused one, she was looking like a gay at a lesbians party.

"But I thought you didn't want to have kids yet, Stephie?"

"Well yeah, I didn't. But after I had a talk with Luciano, he put me back on track"

I looked at my mate who had a grin on his face. "When did this happen Luciano?" I asked him through the mindlink and he held my hand.

"You were unconscious, Orchid"

**Flashback: Luciano's Pov**

I was distraught, it's already been a week and she hasn't woken up. I stood up from the couch in her ward and moved closer to her. I took her hand in mine and placed a soft kiss on it.

My Beta's scent filled the room and I turned towards his direction and he looked weird, like he's been thinking about something.

"I almost forgot you smelt like cedar" I said looking back at my mate.

"How is she doing? Any progress?" He asked and I looked back at him

"Yeah, she just hasn't woken up" my mind went back to the battle ground, how I had my mate and beta protecting me. "Ummm, I forgot to say thank you, for having my back"

"It's nothing Luciano, I'll always have your back. We're brothers, cousins and best friends. We would have almost been mates you know?" He said trying to make me laugh, and I did, so did he.

"Ummm, Luciano. Can I talk to you?"

"Sure bro, what about? Please sit down" we both sat down on the couch and I paid attention to what he was about to say.

"The thing is, I wanted your advice. Alley wants to start having kids and I'm not sure I'm ready. I mean kids are a whole new level of responsibility. I did make it clear to her that I wasn't ready, but I think I might have hurt her feelings. I'm so confused, I don't know what to do"

I thought about it for a while, he sure is in a dilemma.

"Honestly Stephan, nobody is ever really ready for anything. I can understand where you're coming from, kids are on a whole 'nother level of crazy. But, in my prospective, recreation is a way to take your mate bond to the next level, it brings about a special spark in your lives. Knowing fully well that the child is a product of your love and respect for each other, to her it might just be the thought of birthing the product of what came from you and the love you both share that makes her happy. Giving life to a new creature, a new cub, a blessing from the goddess as a thank you to both of you for honouring the choice she made. Children are the most innocent creatures that will ever exist."

I stopped for a while to observe him before I continued

"It's always magical how their genuine smile can bring together an entire family, and strengthen the bond between mates. Witnessing all their first moments, it's all truly magical. I watched my younger sister grow, Daniella Kendall Calderon. When she was born, she was like a bright light, beaming with Joy. You and I were just 3 then, but I started to understand the magic children could do. You should start wanting kids, you're living comfortably, earning well, got your own home, what else are you waiting for. I don't know about you, but once I know Esme is better, I'm going to talk to her about having kids. I've always wanted to know what little Esme or little Luciano would look like."

"Thanks bro, I knew I could come to you" with that, we bro-hugged. "Take care of Esme, yeah?"

"Yeah, we'll be fine" I said back

    **End of flashback**

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier Orchid, but I just thought I'd keep it to myself because it's a bro thing" he said back through the link.

"It's okay Luciano, and yes, I would love to start having kids with you, I think we're pretty much ready" I said back through the link and he kissed my head.

I looked at Alley and Stephan as they looked so cute together. Stephan talking to the baby and Alley giggling.

"Thank you Esme and Luciano" Alley said to both of us through the link.

"You're welcome" We both said back.
