Grandmother Walburga
It was the next day, mid afternoon, I was strolling around the house. My fingers slowly trailed the walls as I explored. Sirius and Remus were currently in another meeting so I took this chance to look by myself. Orion also tagged along on our adventure trailing behind me
Currently I was walking on the bottom floor looking around. Out of no where I stumble across a large wall covered in painting. There was a large covered one with several uncovered pieces surrounding it. My eyes studied each painting. They were all slightly dark pieces, Mainly of night landscapes. Unintentionally the curtain drops revealing a portrait of a woman
"WHO-"
She silences herself when she notices me looking up at her
"Andromeda?" She gasps
I shake my head "No it's Ophelia"
"Ophelia?"
"Andromeda was my mother"
Her eyes look me up and down as if searching for any signs
"What happened to my daughter?" She questions watching me now with a strict face
I sigh "She was killed"
The two of us are in silence her face begins to soften slightly
"Well I'm your grandmother if you would like to know?"
"Really" I gasp
She smiles "yeah"
We look at each other fondly
"Your very beautiful you must take it from the women in our family"
I chuckle to myself at her remark
"You look stunning as well" I complement her
"Why thank you at least you have manners unlike your uncle, my son" She says ending sourly
My grandmother then told my more about my family. I eventually sat down in front listening to her go on. Orion rests on my lap. She tells me the history of the Black Family and how we were a Slytherin house until my mother and Sirius were sorted differently. She expressed her disappointment but continued to try and talk positively
"Feel free to take anything that I haven't cursed" She says unexpectedly
"What do you mean that you haven't cursed?" I ask raising my eyebrow
"Well we may or may not have cursed several items" She sighs "So be careful what you touch"
"Of course"
She finally notices the puppy in my lap
"Who's that?" She questions glaring at him
"This is my puppy, Orion" I tell her "Sirius and my father got me him because I was really upset and didn't want to be around or talk to anyone"
"I see but why Orion as the name?"
"Well at first I didn't know that my grandfather was called Orion but when I was naming him we never agreed on the same name until that one popped into my head"
"Well only this dog is allowed in my house" She states as I laugh at her
"Do you not like dogs?"
"They're okay but it's just that I don't want hundreds of dogs to come running around my house"
"I totally understand"
We begin talking about family more she starts to talk about others such as the Malfoy's
"Have you met your cousin Draco Malfoy?"
"Yes, he's a year older than me"
"Do you get along?"
"I guess you could say we do, he just hates my friends"
"I see"
Somehow, our talk then trail onto etiquette. Don't ask but she began teaching me ways. She got me to stand up and show her my bow. As well as how I talk to other people. In a way, this just conversation went from just getting to know each other then switching to lessons. She questioned my dancing skills and if I can waltz which I showed her despite not having a partner
"What's going on here?" A voice questioned out of the blue. I jump before turning around and seeing Sirius in the doorway
"Umm.."
"I was talking to my granddaughter Sirius" She flatly says
"I see well the meetings over Lia and Tonks wants to see you again"
I nod turning back to my grandmother bidding her farewell. Then I leave heading to the kitchen where I find some of the members
"Hey" I greet them
"Hello Ophelia" Tonks smiles coming over and giving me a hug
She takes me to the table sitting down beside me
"So what have you been doing?" She asks
"Talking to my grandmother" I reply "She talked about family until moving on to etiquette lessons"
"Etiquette?"
"Yeah apparently it's required of any woman in the House of Black" I shrug
"It is" Sirius sighs taking a seat "Should've seen when Andromeda tried to escape from those lessons"
"What did she hate it?"
"No but it was just many lessons a week"
We all then laughed with each other and then telling me what's going on in the world. Everyone seemed happy in the moment and that was something to be glad of
