We remained in the Three Broomsticks for some time. Enjoying the warm taste of butterbeer travelling down our throats. Eventually, after the last drops of the soothing drink went down our throats, we placed down the cups"Shall we call it a day and go back to school, then?" Harry questioned. We all agreed and then tossed back on our multiple layers before heading out the pub. I linked my arm with Harry's as we walked away from the village and back up the path
We walked through the frozen slush, behind Katie Bell and, more likely, her friend
As we headed towards the castle, the voices of the two girls in front of us grew louder. The chilly breeze echoed what seemed to be an argument about something Katie seemed to have in her hand
"It's nothing to do with you, Leanne!" We heard Katie tell her friend. The four of us watched from behind as her friend went to grab the package. However Katie then tugged it back and it fell to the ground
As soon as it came into contact with the ground, Katie rose into the air. Her arms were outstretched as her hair whipped around in the wind and her eyes were closed. We all halted in our steps, falling into line with her friend
Suddenly a high pitched scream came from Katie. Her eyes had flung open as she continued to scream. Her friend went to tug on her ankles which we also attempted to help with until she crashed down on top of us
Unfortunately she continued to thrash and scream upon the ground as we attempted to hold her down. All of us glances around the deserted area with no one to call for help with
"Stay there!" Harry shouted over the howling wind "I'm going for help!"
He ran in the direction of the castle as we remained to hold her down. Eventually Harry came running back with the company of Hagrid
"Get back!" shouted Hagrid at us, making the lot of us jump back "Lemme see her!"
"Something's happened to her!" Katie's friend sobbed "I don't know what-"
After a mere second Hagrid scooped the girl up before running off in the direction of the castle. Hermione then went to the friends side and put an arm around her
"It's Leanne, isn't it?" The girl simply nodded "Did it just happen all of a sudden, or-?"
"It was when that package tore" Leanne sobbed. I leaned down toward the package which had split open, revealing a sort of necklace. However as I went to take it, Harry grabbed my hand back
"Don't touch it!"
He crouched down, looking at the seemingly necklace in recognition
"I've seen that before" He said, staring at the thing "It was on display in Borgin and Burkes ages ago. The label said it was cursed. Katie must have touched it" We looked up at Leanne who had started to shake uncontrollably "How did Katie get hold of this?"
"Well, that's why we were arguing. She came back from the bathroom in the Three Broomsticks holding it, said it was a surprise for somebody at Hogwarts and she had to deliver it. She looked all funny when she said it...Oh no, oh no, I bet she'd been Imperiused and I didn't realize!" Leanne shook with renewed sobs as Hermione patted her shoulder gently
"She didn't say who'd given it to her, Leanne?"
"No...she wouldn't tell me...and I said she was being stupid and not to take it up to school, but she just wouldn't listen and... and then I tried to grab it from her...and- and-" Leanne let out a wail of despair
"We'd better get up to school" Hermione advised, her arm still around Leanne "We'll be able to find out how she is. Come on..."
Harry unwrapped the scarf from his neck before carefully using it to pick up the necklace
