It was a new day with me and Luna quietly walking down the corridor. In fact it was the last full one before winter break. We'd been dismissed a couple minutes early from potions since there had been an explosion of someones cauldron. Which started spreading the substance across the floor"Okay I'm ready to speak now" Luna said, taking a deep breath. She had been meaning to talk for a while now
"So what's this news thats been troubling you so that it makes you disappear practically everyday"
"Look I've been disappearing for days, to think" She seriously explained "It's mainly because I like someone"
"You do?!" I excitingly gasp, whirling to look at her. Quickly I put my hands on her shoulders, shaking them slightly "Who?"
She fiddled nervously with her fingers, not meeting my gaze. The usual dreamy Luna had been replaced with an anxious one. She then incoherently mumbled under her breath
"What?"
"I like Ginny" She yet again incoherently mumbled
"Just speak louder I don't-"
"I LIKE GINNY" She bursts, my eyes just widen
"Geez shh...that's what I thought you said" I replied, scanning the corridors "When...how?"
"I don't know" Luna said very hushed. If anyone was to come down this corridor, we'd seem unnecessarily suspicious "It's just the things she goes and she's gorgeous"
"So that makes you...?" I say, unsure of the term she's going for
"I'm bisexual" She admits, looking slightly fearful at finally admitting that aloud. However surprisingly for her, I widely grin
"Congratulations" I pull her into a tight hug, the two of us rocking back and forth
"Please don't tell her" Luna requests when we pull away
"Don't worry" I reassure "I won't tell her but I'll try to see what she thinks"
"Thanks-"
Suddenly Hermione comes running past us. We could hear the sobs escaping from her as she runs past into the girls bathroom. The two of us worriedly follow her inside, watching as she cried. Comfortingly we wrap arms around her in silence, not saying anything incase it makes her cry even worse
Eventually she calms down and gives us grateful smiles as we lead her out of the bathroom. Harry seems relieved when he hurried up to us
"Oh, hello, Harry" Luna said "Did you know one of your eyebrows is bright yellow?"
"Hi, Luna and Ophelia. Hermione, you left your stuff..." He kindly held out her books
"Oh, yes" Hermione choked, taking her things and turning away quickly to hide the fact she was wiping her eyes with her pencil case "Thank you, Harry. Well, I'd better get going..."
With that she runs off. I turn to Harry with an eyebrow raised
"Does this have something to do with Ron?" I asked
"Yeah, they've had a row" Harry sighed
"He says funny things sometimes, doesn't he?" Luna commented as we set off down the corridor "But he can be a bit unkind. I noticed that last year"
"I s'pose" Harry shrugged

It was now dinner and I sat opposite Ron and Harry. Luna was, what I assumed, gone off to think again. On the other hand Ginny was sitting with Dean and I preferred not to keep third wheeling them. I was going to sit with Hermione, however she wanted to be alone
"You could say sorry" Harry bluntly suggested after we watched Ron stare at Hermione
"What, and get attacked by another flock of canaries?" Ron muttered
"What did you have to imitate her for?"
"She laughed at my mustache!"
"So did I, it was the stupidest thing I've ever seen" Harry retorted, rolling his eyes. However Ron didn't hear as Lavender suddenly squeezed in between him and Harry
"Hi Harry, Ophelia" Parvati greeted, looking slightly embarrassed of her friends behaviour since Lavender flung her arms around Ron's neck
"Hey Parvati" I reply
"Hi" Harry responded "How're you? You're staying at Hogwarts, then? I heard your parents wanted you to leave"
"I managed to talk them out of it for the time being" Parvati informed us. I had heard about some parents taking their kids out "That Katie thing really freaked them out, but as there hasn't been anything since...Oh, hi, Hermione!"
We all looked at Hermione who was matching Parvati's beaming smile
"Hi, Parvati!" Hermione said, ignoring Ron and Lavender completely "Are you going to Slughorn's party tonight?"
"No invite" Parvati said gloomily "I'd love to go, though, it sounds like it's going to be really good...you're going, aren't you?"
"Yes, I'm meeting Cormac at eight, and we're-" She was cut of by an odd sound which seemingly came from Ron. I internally smirked, understating Hermione game "-we're going up to the party together"
"Cormac?" said Parvati "Cormac McLaggen, you mean?"
"That's right" said Hermione sweetly "The one who almost" she put a great deal of emphasis on the word "became Gryffindor Keeper"
"Are you going out with him, then?" asked Parvati, wide-eyed. Me and Harry just looked at each other. He just gave me a look to tone down my excitement and amusement
"Oh-yes-didn't you know?" Hermione said, it was followed by a giggle the normal Hermione definitely would not do
"No!" Parvati gasped, looking positively agog at this piece of gossip "Wow, you like your Quidditch players, don't you? First Krum, then McLaggen"
"I like really good Quidditch players" Hermione corrected her, still smiling "Well, see you...got to go and get ready for the party..."
"I'll take that as my call to go get ready as well" I say, standing up. I quickly kiss Harry's cheek from across the table "I'll meet you out here at eight"
