December 30th, 1995

For the past days, Aquila has been taking advantage of not having class and avoiding Fred and the other Weasleys.  She spent her time in the Slytherin common room hanging out with Victoria or being in her dorm. Every now and then she would leave her common room and unintentionally run into Fred. She would always break any eye contact they had made and walked away from him. No words had been exchanged throughout those long days. She would occasionally go up to the astronomy tower very late at night for a breath of fresh air, which is what she was going to do today. She quickly put on a black hoodie and striped sweatpants after brushing her hair. Aquila silently opened the wooded door at a slow pace, revealing the dark hallway. She slowly stepped out of her room and gently closed her dorm room door. She walked the shadow hallways in silence with the goal of no one finding out she was leaving her dorm. Once she reached the astronomy tower, she went up the stairs only to find the last person she would want to see. The boy sat looking at the shining stars which occupied the twilight sky while humming a tune that made Aquila's heart warm. The sound of his voice filled her ears, it was so peaceful but full of melancholic emotion. She watched how he brushed his ginger hair off his forehead and hugged himself to warm himself from the cold. Aquila took a deep breath and walked towards the boy at a quiet pace.

"Fred?", Aquila called out. Fred looked behind him and saw Aquila standing behind him. He wanted to smile, he really did, but he was angry, so instead, he gave her no expression on his face and looked away. He didn't know why Aquila had just ignored him and his family for days. He just didn't understand. Aquila slowly walked up to him and sat next to the fiery redhead boy. An uncomfortable silence filled the space as both didn't make eye contact and just looked at the sky. Fred started to tense up. He couldn't take the silence, especially when there were obviously things to talk about.

"So, aren't you going to explain yourself?", Fred said looking at Aquila with an expression that almost held no emotion. "Or are you just going to sit there and pretend you haven't been avoiding me for the last two days?", he asked. He looked at her with anticipant eyes as he waited for an answer to come out of her mouth. Aquila looked at him, contemplating if she should tell him the real reason she had been avoiding him. She just looked at him and lowered her head trying not to make eye contact. Fred raised his eyebrows, signaling he wanted an answer. Aquila sighed and began to explain herself.

"Fred, I'm sorry okay?", said Aquila as she looked at him in the eyes.

"Sorry?", Fred scoffed. "Sorry for just randomly ignoring me AFTER I invited you to spend Christmas with my family?", Fred questioned her with a demanding voice. "Why did you avoid me?", Fred asked with a more gentle voice. He had the voice of someone who was hurt.

"I- ", Aquila stuttered.

"What is it?", Fred asked impatiently.

"Because I'm starting to have an opinion about you that I'm not so sure about.", Aquila spit out. Fred's eyes widened in shock and Aquila buried her face in her hands in shock of what she just did. 'What is wrong with me, why did I say that?', Aquila thought to herself. 'Out of all the things I could've said to cover the truth, I said that'. She wasn't even sure if she had liked him or not. Aquila's heart started to beat intensely. She felt like puking. The brown-haired girl lifted her head from her hands and saw Fred staring at her with a smirk.

"And what may that be?", Fred asked scooting a little closer to her.

"That's something that only I will know of", Aquila responded, completely regretting her comment from before. Fred scoots a little closer than before and slowly put a strand of hair that was hanging in front of her forehead behind Aquila's ear. Aquila looks up at him and their eyes meet once again. Aquila's eyes looked into Fred's brown ones. She looked into his eyes, but her view slowly drifted to his lips. She looked at his slightly parted lips with anticipation. Fred noticed her eyes were no longer looking into his, but looking at his mouth. Fred moved to whisper something into her ear in a low and seducing voice.

"Swallow your pride and tell me how you feel, love". Aquila's heart started beating uncontrollably at the nickname he gave her. Her skin quickly formed goosebumps. She didn't like that.

"Don't call me that", Aquila threatened in a stern but low voice.

"Call you what?", Fred asked knowing exactly what she was talking about you.

"I will not say it, as you know what I'm talking about.", Aquila stated. Fred chuckled and sat a bit farther from Aquila.

"What can I do for you to tell me how you feel?", Fred asked with a playful smile on his face.

"Make me have no doubt.", Aquila responded. She stood up from where she was sitting and headed back to her dorm room, leaving Fred flushed in pink.
