"Soojin! You forgot to throw the trash again! Goodness. What do I do with you?!" I heard mom shouting downstairs while I was taking a shower.

"Sorry!" I shouted, hoping she could hear my apology.

"Mom can you pass me some shampoo from the other bathroom?" I asked but I got no response.

I raised a brow and tried calling her once again.

"Huh? where did she go?" I mumbled to myself.

I continued taking a shower and heard the door clicking so I knew mom just got back.

A week had passed since Jaemin and I last met and I've never gotten a message from him since then so I kinda lost hope for 'us'

I really thought he won't talk to me anymore and it bothered me everyday and night.

I just got out of the shower and was humming to my favorite song while walking down the stairs when I saw Jaemin sitting on our couch, casually talking to my mom.

"Oh...Song Soojin." Mom said as she raised a brow at me.

"NA JAEMIN?!"

My eyes widen.

"Hi." He said with a soft chuckle.

I gasped when I realized I was wearing my brother's boxer shorts!

ah shit...

I accidentally took a wrong pair of shorts earlier so I had no choice but to wear it for the mean time.

I cursed to myself and rushed upstairs to change into casual clothes.

"WHY DID I EVEN WORE THAT CRAP." I groaned to myself.

I changed into a pair of black shorts and an oversized sweater since mom and I was planning to grocery shop.

I can hear my mom talk a lot of things about my childhood and Jaemin kept on asking so many questions!

I quickly dried my hair and put a subtle amount of tint on my lip and cheeks.

I was busy blending my cheek tint when I worried if Jaemin thinks I'm getting a little too extra just because he's here at my house.

"Ugh whatever! Let him think what he wants to think!" I mumbled to myself before getting down to see them.

"Hey. What brings you here?" I casually asked.

"I saw him outside our house when I was throwing out the trash I asked you to throw this morning." Mom gave me a glare and I bit my lower lip when I realized I forgot to do the chores this morning.

I saw Jaemin trying not to laugh and I glared at him.

"We were supposed to be grocery shopping today but I'll just go alone—"

"No! I'll go with you." I said.

"I can help." Jaemin insisted.

Mom shook her head and took the keys.

"If that's the case, then let's go." She said and Jaemin looked like he won the lottery with his smile.

I couldn't but feel confused of what was happening.

Just when I actually thought it was over for us, here is Jaemin grocery shopping with me AND my mom! Yes with my freaking mom!

"Soojin, here's a list of the grocery you need to buy. I'll go to the other side to make out time effi" Mom said as soon as we entered the grocery.

"Jaemin, is it okay if you help her out?" Mom asked out of the blue and Jaemin nodded with a smile.

I suddenly felt awkward around Jaemin when mom left.

I was about to follow mom when Jaemin pulled the hood of my sweater jacket, which caused me to be pulled back beside him.

I pouted and looked away.

"Where are you going?"

"Uh...To the dairy section." I said with an awkward chuckle.

"The dairy section is right there, Soojin." Jaemin said, pointing on the opposite side.

I scratched my nape and smiled.

Jaemin shook his head while smiling to himself. He pushed me aside and took over the push cart.

"I can handle it." I said but he didn't even bother listening to me.

I followed him behind and we walked straight to the dairy section.

I took what I needed and Jaemin stood behind me patiently waiting for me to finish putting all the dairy products I needed to buy like milk and butter.

"You sure this is enough?" He asked out of the blue.

"Yup." I said.

"I didn't know you liked chocolate milk." He said.

"Not me. My brother likes it." I said, feeling a bit comfortable around him now.

"What beverage do you like the most?" I asked.

"Hm...Coffee?" He chuckled.

"Tsk. You should stop taking too much caffeine." I reminded.

"Yeah right. You should stop drinking carbonated drinks, too." He teased and I pouted.

He looked so serious looking up at the nutrition facts on each item I put on the cart and it made me smile.

'How can you be this adorable...' I thought to myself.

I was busy comparing two brands of fruit juice when I caught him staring but I shrugged it off.

As we were walking down the cereal isle, I gasped when I saw EunKyung walking towards us.

"Oh?! Why are you two together grocery shopping?" She asked.

"Hi." Jaemin casually greeted her while there I was, sweating buckets!

"Oh well— I, I mean Jaemin—" I tried to explain but she just shook her head while giving us a meaningful smile.

"No need to explain, Soojin. I understand." She said.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anybody that you're dating Jaemin—"

"What?? This young guy is dating my daughter? Song Soojin! What's going on in here?"

My eyes widen when mom stepped in the scene.

"STOP! No one's dating anyone!" I tried to explain my side.

"Oh....you're not dating? Sorryyy I really thought you two were a thing." EunKyung said while hiding behind my mom.

I looked at Jaemin but he was just smiling the entire time.

"Hey, come on. Say something." I nudged him.

"You really want me to say something?" He smirked and I nodded.

He chuckled softly before holding my hand.

"Mrs. Song. Can I take your daughter out for a date?"

Of course, it is not their love story's end. I can say this is just the start.
