Your father and I are getting a divorce."
The words that shot through Jimin's ears like a bullet, traveling through the course of his body only to stop in his cardiovascular system, piercing his heart with extraordinary pain.
"And we decided that it is best that you go and live with your mother in Seoul. She is better fit to take care of you," Jimin's father was soft spoken, his tone was subtle but stern as he spoke to his son.
"This can't be happening. You guys couldn't wait until I graduated? This is my last year!" The only child was newly eighteen, excited for his new endeavors as a senior in secondary school. This couldn't be happening to him, he thought.
Anger. That was all he felt because his parents are making him move miles away from his home, his friends, and everything he's ever known weeks before he starts his last year of secondary school.
"I know it hurts now my prince, but your father and I have been unhappy for a significant amount of time, and in the long run you will understand why things had to be this way," he can basically hear her tears jumping from her eyes and landing on the chestnut brown table that was used for family dinners.
Jimin could not even look at them. To ashamed to so. He was a product of a fake marriage. A marriage that no longer had any love.
"Did you guys even love each other?"
"Of course honey. I will always love your father. But, we are not seeing eye to eye anymore and things haven't been the same in a long time," the mother says as she leans across the table and grabs a handful of Jimin's chipmunk like cheeks.
"Indeed. Your mother will always have a special place in my heart, but it is time we grow and learn to love ourselves again,"
"They say love never fails...Now I know that was a lie," The chair Jimin sat in was pushed back as he stood above his parents, tears falling so fast he was losing his vision.
"My parents were supposed to last forever" Jimin couldn't grasp why this was happening to him. His life felt like it was on a constant decline.

Reminiscence;
"Mommy, how much do you love daddy?" The question was random."I love your daddy very much. Almost as much as I love you," she turns around from the passenger seat and tickles her son. Her arms only being able to tickle just below his right knee, due to her shorter in length arms.
"Will you love daddy forever?" The questions kept coming.
"Yes, baby as long as I live,"
"And I will love your mommy for as long as I live,"
the young one's dad averts his attention from the road for a few seconds to look back at his spitting image with reassurance.
