The Gryffindor quidditch team was getting ready for a quidditch game when Professor McGonagall says "this match has been canceled."
"They can't cancel quidditch" Oliver says.
"Silence Wood! Everyone to their common room, except your you Mr Potter and Ms Y/L/N" McGonagall says.
Me and Harry can tell by the tone of her voice that it's important. We follow her to the common room.
"Mr Weasley" McGonagall says.
Ron stands up and comes with me and Harry to follow McGonagall. We follow her to the outside of the hospital wing.
She stops walking and says "now this may come to a shock to you." She walks in and the three of us follow.
I saw Hermione laying on a hospital bed, petrified. "Hermione!" We all say, rushing to her side.
McGonagall holds up a small hand mirror and says "she was found outside the library. Holding this. Does it mean anything to you?"
We shake your heads and McGonagall leaves the hospital wing. I pick up the mirror, trying to see if there was anything special about it.
Then, in the mirror, I see a small piece of parchment tucked into Hermione's hand. I set the mirror down and takes the crumpled up paper she was holding.
I uncrumple it, and read it. "I think Hermione's found something" I say.
I read the paper, it was about a monster called the basilisk. "What did she find?" Ron and Harry ask.
I hand them the paper and they read it. "It's says that the basilisk kills when it looks people in the eyes though" Ron says.
"How is it no one's dead?" Harry asks.
"It wasn't direct eye contact. Hermione saw the eyes through the reflection of the mirror, Collin Creevey saw it through his camera, Justin saw it through Nearly-Headless Nick, Nick's dead so he can't die again" I say.
"What about Mrs Norris? I don't suppose cats carry mirrors or cameras with them" Ron says.
I roll my eyes at his sarcastic comment. "There was water flooding on the floor idiot! Mrs Norris saw the eyes in the reflection of the water" I say.
"We've gotta go find Lockhart and take him to find the chamber of secrets. Question is, where is it?" Harry asks.
I look at the paper and see written in ink, "pipes".
"Looks like Hermione solved that too! The pipes!" I say.
"Let's go" Ron says.
"Where?" I ask.
"Hagrid's, so we can ask him about this to see if it's true" Harry says.
We walk to the common room. Me and Ron wait while Harry grabs his invisibility cloak. We're all under the cloak and are walking out of the common room.
We sneak down to Hagrid's hut and knock on the door. Hagrid slowly opens the door, and we was holding a crossbow.
"Hello? Who's there?" Hagrid asks. We took the cloak off and talked with Hagrid.
Not too much later, there was another knock at the door.
"Quickly get under the cloak!" Hagrid whisper-shouts at the three of us. We hide under the invisibility cloak again.
Hagrid opens the door and Dumbledore, a worker from the ministry, and Lucius Malfoy walk in.
"What are yeh doing here?! Get out of my house!" Hagrid says to Lucius.
"Believe me, I don't enjoy being in your- you call this a house?" Lucius asks.
They started talking about Dumbledore taking a temporary leave and Hagrid going to Azkaban!
This is not good at all.
As Hagrid was about to leave the hut, he says "If anyone ever wanted to know more, they should follow the spiders. That'd lead the way. And and someone will need to feed Fang."
All the adults were gone so I pulled the cloak off of us.
I notice spiders crawling on the wall. I grab a lantern and say "come on Fang. We're going for a walk."
"Where are you taking Fang for a walk at night?" Ron asks.
I point to the spiders on the wall. We go outside and start following the spiders into the forest.
"Why'd it have to be follow the spiders? Why couldn't it have been follow the butterflies?" Ron asks nervously.
"Because it is Ron, now shhh" I say.
We walk deep into the forest and find a bunch of large spiders . "Hagrid, is that you?" Aragog asks.
"No, we're friends of Hagrid's" Harry says.
Long story short, the spiders come and try to eat us all. We run back to the castle and to the common room.
"Goodnight guys" I say, and walk to my dormitory.
No matter what, I couldn't fall asleep. I get up from my bed and leave my dormitory. I walk out of the common room and take a walk around the school.
I had the hand mirror in my hand in front of me. Then in the mirror, I saw a pair of big yellow eyes.
I felt my body weaken and drop to the ground. I had been petrified.
