"Good Afternoon Colonel." I said as Mustang returned to the office.

"Afternoon." Mustang said, he seemed deep in thought, his head was in a book. I also couldn't help but notice the creases under his eyes. Mustang seemed much more tired than usual.

Some time had passed and I was almost ready to return home, I was filing the last few papers and mailing out some important letters.

"Redfield will you please speak with me outside." Mustang said as he pointed towards the door. My stomach churned as I heard those words, every time he called for a meeting I always assumed the worst, which was that he had found out the truth somehow.

I followed the Colonel outside to the usual spot where we spoke in private, we both sat down on a bench that was in a curvature in the wall.

"Lieutenant would you please join me for dinner tonight, there's something important that I need to relay to you." Mustang said, I blushed as I heard those words once more. I was glad that it wasn't about my secret, I was curious about this important thing that he needed to tell me, was he going to confess?

I looked up at Mustang, and there was the slightest hint of red forming at the side of his cheeks. I smiled and answered his request:

"I'd love to join you for dinner." I said sternly, I had nothing better to do, plus I was so curious as to what he needed to tell me.

"I'll swing by your place at 8 ok?"

"Sounds good," I said with a smile. We both returned to the office and left shortly after.

I rushed back home and picked out an outfit. I didn't want to be too formal, but then again, I didn't want Mustang to out class me. I got out a nice dress that I had recently bought, it was red and had a beautiful cinched waist. But then I caught a glance of the pleated mini skirt that was sticking out of my dresser.

"The Colonel loves mini skirts." I said to myself.

I grabbed the skirt and a nice top, and then I finished up my makeup. Next I curled my hair, which took a while since I wanted it to last longer, last time the curl didn't stay for as long as I had hoped.

There was a knock on the door, which made me jump up, he was here.

"Lieutenant it's good to see you again." Mustang said as I opened the door, we had just seen each other a few hours ago.

"It's good to see you too Colonel." I said in response, I wasn't really sure what else to say.

Mustang stretched out a hand and I took it, we headed back down to his large car, it always smelled like pine inside.

"Mustang you look tired, are you alright?" I asked sounding concerned, he had creases under his eyes, and his face wasn't as well kept as it usually was.

"I'm fine, I just haven't been getting that much sleep."

"I noticed that your wearing a mini skirt." Mustang said jokingly.

"Yeah, so what if I am." I said shyly, it made me happy that he noticed.

I wondered where he was going to take me this time, maybe a different restaurant, since we were in Central now.

"Mustang, where are we headed this time." I asked excitedly, being with the Colonel was always fun, I hoped he enjoyed my company just as much as I enjoyed his.

"I made us something. It's better if we talk privately, so I thought a picnic would be appropriate." Mustang  said, his voice was cold as ever, which made it all the more difficult to read him. Sometimes he could be so cold, while at the same time so caring, he was a strange one for sure, now I know what Bradley meant back then.

Mustang parked the car and helped me out of the front seat. We walked down a narrow path which led to the park. It was dimly lit, and we mainly relied on the light that was radiating from the moon and nearby buildings.

"This is the perfect place." I said pointing to a patch of grass that was underneath a large walnut tree.

"Yeah, here take this." Mustang said as he handed me the basket. He got out the blanket and tossed it up so that it would unfold. He took back the basket and got out the contents that were inside of it.

There were sandwiches, some crackers, and two small plates. The colonel handed me one or two of them, and he began eating. I admired them a bit, Mustang had made these with his own hands.

"Thank you so much Roy." I said, he sat up a little when he heard me call him by his first name.

"Don't mention it." He said in his more softer voice.

I took a bite of the sandwich, it practically melted in my mouth. The bread was so soft, and the meat was to tender, the vegetables were a nice touch too, and to top it all of there was the slightest hint of mayo.

I devoured the thing and reached for another one, Mustang noticed and he handed me another from inside the basket.

"Luna, there's something very important that I need to talk about." Mustang said, he was back to his cold self.

"Shoot," I said, my attention was focused on him once again.

Mustang explained the homonculi and the corruption that was going on in the government as well as the military. He also mentioned the Fuhrer and some other terrible things in further detail. I had to play along and act surprised, even though I was well aware of the whole situation since the start.

"What are you going to do now Mustang." I asked curiously, if he were to go against the military then I would gladly join him, I wanted to know what he's been planning, and where he's been running off to.

"For now nothing, since this doesn't get in the way of my current plans." Mustang said calmly, I was content with that answer, maybe he would be getting some more sleep from now on.

"Roy promise me that you'll watch yourself, these people are different, they really are monsters." I said abruptly. I knew how powerful they were, if he were to arouse suspicion, then he would be wiped out just like Hughes.

"You act as if you known about them for some time." Mustang said, there was suspicion in his voice.

"No I haven't, I was just looking out for you, that's all." I said, I had to watch myself around him, Mustang may seem cool as cucumber, but in actuality he was very observant and cautious.

I moved closer to the Colonel and pointed up to the stars.

"Look, there's Ursa Minor." I said pointing to a cluster of stars that was opposite of the moon. I wondered if Mustang liked astronomy as well.

"And there's the dipper." He said pointing to the spoon shaped constellation.

I looked up at Mustang and smiled, he looked back at me, which made me nervous. Our faces were even closer than before, and I could even hear his shallow breathing. I slowly moved closer and closer, to him. I closed my eyes and kissed him, there was this warm sensation that I felt when our lips touched.

"Luna-." He said quietly, his words brought me back to reality.

I backed away and stood up quickly.

"Forgive me Colonel Mustang." I said as I bowed.

"I have to go." I said and I ran out of the park. I didn't dare look back, I feared that Mustang might have been chasing after me.

I eventually made it home, and I slammed the door shut. I was such an idiot, why did I leave him like that, but more importantly, why did I kiss him.
