A New Beginning (Lloyd x reader)

Chapter 3

You were about to report back to the other. When...

"The Princess is gone! Find her!" Mr. Hutchins shouted to the guards. 

"Everyone search the whole palace and outside, we've gotta find the princess before something bad happens." You told everyone over the earpiece.

TIME SKIP

Mr. Hutchins eventually found the princess together with Lloyd outside the palace walls. You were wrecking your brain as to why those two were walking around the city together alone. 

You were walking around patrolling the palace when you bummed into Lloyd. 

"Oh, sorry Lloyd." You apologized. 

"Hey, no harm done, but are you alright? You don't look so good." Lloyd placed a hand on your shoulder, rubbing it slightly. 

"Can I ask you something?" You looked sternly at him. 

"Uh, sure, what's up?" You could hear Lloyd getting nervous. 

"What were you and Harumi doing outside the palace?" You asked him, your gaze never wavering from his. 

"Oh, Oh! Let me explain. You see, I was patrolling the hallways and I went to check up on the princess, But when I got to her room it was totally ransacked. And her balcony was open, so I walked over and saw someone with a sack on their back, and I assumed it was Harumi and that someone kidnapped her. And so I ran after them, only to discover it was Harumi." 

"And It never crossed your mind to tell us what you were doing?" You raised an eyebrow.  

"Hey, everything turned out fine, no harm done. You don't need to worry abo-" Lloyd reassured you, but cut him off. 

"It's not you, I'm worried about." You felt the anger inside of you grow. 

"What do you mean?" Lloyd asked, taken aback by your sudden outburst. 

"It means I don't trust Harumi, something is off about her." You confessed the feeling you had earlier that day. 

"You don't trust her. Y/n, she has shown nothing but kindness to us ever since we came. Are you sure you're not just making assumptions?" Lloyd fired back at you. 

"I don't know, maybe I am! Or maybe I just don't trust people as much as you do!" You began to raise your voice. 

"Maybe you're just jealous of Harumi, Maybe afraid that she's going to take me away from you!" Lloyd also began to raise his voice at you. 

"Maybe I am! Maybe we got married too fast for all that I know of!" You began shouting. 

"Maybe we did!" Lloyd shouted back. 

"You know what! Don't talk to me until you've made up your mind about whom you want!" You shouted and turned away from Lloyd and walked to your room. 

Lloyd heard the door slam. Lloyd felt the anger boil inside him. He roared and slammed his fist into one of the columns nearby. 

You slammed the door shut and leaned up against it. Almost as soon as your back hit the door, you burst you crying. 

You slipped down the door and pulled your knees to you. You pulled the surrounding necklace from your suit. 

You and Lloyd had agreed to get a gold chain to keep your wedding rings hidden, and so they don't get destroyed. 

You looked at it and kissed it. 

"I'm sorry, Lloyd, I'm so sorry." You whimpered. 

That night you fell asleep against the door, clutching your wedding rings in your hand.
