February came around the corner and I was excited because I finally had a boyfriend to share Valentine's Day with. I knew Josh loved chocolate and I planned to buy him the cheesiest and girliest box in the store. At school, the student council started hanging shit for Valentine's Day. This was the stuff I found annoying, the Valentine's Day dance, the exchange of cards, flowers... ew. This year it wasn't so ew for me.

During lunch, Emily and I spent the hour working on her art project. She hated art. While we worked, she filled me in on her classmates. Apparently, Aidan sat beside her and they never talked but according to her, he was the best artist in her class.

I was surprised. Anger Issues never failed to impress me.

After school, we cancelled practice due to the amount of homework we had. School first. Satan's music second.

" How was school?" My mom asked, getting home from the office at the same time we did.

" Great," Carter said.

His phone vibrated and he checked his messages. I glanced at the name. It was just a pink heart emoji.

" Who ya texting?" I asked.

" Your boyfriend."

" Shut up," I yelled, making my mom give me the control yourself look.

She walked into the kitchen to start dinner. As Carter and I worked on our homework, we did half of it and threw the rest away.

" Let's play a game," I said as we sat on the couch.

" What kind of game?"

" We exchange secrets, like what your first word was, who you're secretly dating..."

" I'm not dating anyone," He said.

I threw my pencil at him.

During band practice the next day, Phillip decided to do a drum cover of Guns For Hands by Twenty One Pilots.

We all watched in silence as he drummed with Aidan standing behind the camera. Josh and I took note of how Carter was staring at him, cheeks turning pink as Phillip started sweating through the cold temperature.

" Carter is so in love," Josh whispered. I nodded, finding it adorable.

" Oh, any news on Drea?" I asked.

There was a rumor on the news about a man who had five girls trapped in his basement. One of the girls fit Drea's image.

" Not really," He said. " But there's always hope."

I looked at him and hoped his sister would make it home soon.

" She'll be back," I said, holding his hand a little tighter as Phillip finished drumming.

" That was amazing," Aidan clapped, turning the camera off. Phillip smiled, wiping the sweat off of his forehead and taking the camera upstairs. We went to Josh's living room and sat on the floor as Phillip uploaded his cover to the channel. Hopefully the fans would enjoy it and forgive us for failing as a band once again.

Josh turned the TV on, where a new report of the man holding the girls hostage was being shown. We all stared at the screen, listening to the reporter talk about the girls. The police had broken in this morning and two of the five girls escaped, running into the woods before they were identified. One was 13 years old, the other 17. The police was still looking for them.

" Do you think that could of been Drea?" Josh asked, looking at Aidan.

" I honestly don't know," He said, sounding hopeful.

Josh looked at me.

" Most likely, the ages add up," I said.

" I hope they stay safe," He said.

I kissed him, hearing the chorus of groans and gags beside us as I wondered what was happening with Drea.
