Chapter 1 The Start

Third person POV.

Luna always felt like an outcast. She was different from the others around her. She always was and sadly for her, she always will be. She was different for a good few reasons. One being that at these moments in the Southern Air Temple, she was the only female kid there; two, she was the only one to have cat ears, a few sharp teeth like a cat, sharp nails and the instinct of a cat, no one else around her was like her; and three, she was the only one that could cause chaos without lifting a finger or blinking her eyes.

Luna was so different from others and that caused them to be scared of her. The kids never wanted to play with her or be around her, most adults around her had to be around her to teach and guide her, but some, most were scared, uneasy, untrusted of her and when they didn’t need to be with her, wasn’t. The only person Luna felt like cared for her- for her and not scared of her would be the person who had found her when she was just a few month old baby. Gyatso.

Gyatso was the one who had found her in the woods coming back from a well needed walk. He was shocked and sad to find her all alone. He waited for a while for her parents to come back to get her and when they didn’t, he had taken it upon himself to take care of her. So he took her back home with him. The other air nomads were very skeptical, scared, untrusted of her; they didnt know how to deal with a neko before. For a while now, Neko's ‘weren’t to be trusted’, but with them finding out what she really was and what she was to become in the very fast future, they kept her and told her that she was just a black cat neko airbender.

She grew up as a normal airbender. She was told she was a normal neko airbender by everyone, even though a few wished to tell her the truth. Things changed even more when things started to happen to her. She found out what she truly was when the accident happened though. She wanted to play with the other kids, but they wouldn't play with her or even stand beside her, they would just run away and hide from her because they were scared of her. Even though there was no reason for them to be scared of her… until it happened.

The way they had looked at her; in fear, made her sad. She didn't want them to be scared of her. She had done nothing to make them scared of her, nothing. She did her best to make it where no one would be scared of her, did they even try to befriend her? No, they rushed the opposite way from her. She finally cracked. The anger, sadness, the everything she had came rushing through her body and veins so fast that no one expected it.

Luna didn't like that they were scared of her for no reason, so, she gave them a reason to be scared of her and before she knew it, she was waking up in her room confused and scared. Then, she met Aang... the same day or more as night.

After that day, more things started to happen to her. She would get bad headaches that caused her to black out and wake up in her room; she would wake up in the middle of the night because of nightmares that others were having across the earth; mostly she would end up moving things around herself, blowing things up in her face, causing chaos that caused a lot of distractions to the air nomads temple and to herself.

The magic inside her was dangerous to her and others around her and that caused her to be more scared than before. Luna worked even harder to get in control and master her powers, but with no one to guide her, it was harder than anyone expected. There was no one like her to guide her like Aang would have. She wasn't just a normal neko, she was more than that, this causes her to be all alone to figure these things out, but she was also given a lot of pressure to be the best then the others and that was hard.

Though, with Aang standing beside her through everything she's going through; helps a lot. When Aang came into her life, everything changed for her, as much as it was hard to control her ‘gifts’; her powers, with aang there, it wasn't that bad. She was still deadly scared of her powers and a lot of things, like Aang being scared of her. Though, this is Aang we're talking about, he was a good person who sees good in almost everyone, and he saw good in her.

When he met her, he was instantly ready to do everything to befriend the older kid who had happened to be a neko, and he did. Quite fast too.

Aang had instantly seen her as his family. Someone to protect and he didn't know why, but that didn't stop him from following her around, helping her get out of trouble because her powers were acting up on her. He would make her play or talk with him and that caused her to come out of her scared shell and show emotions towards him. That made the young boy very happy to see the once so scared older little girl be more… happy for once.

Through the years of learning to be an airbender, she had learned side Aang. Aang was the avatar, but at the time, the both of them didn't know it.

The two airbenders were the closest with each other. Then Appa came in and the three of them had become an unbreakable bond. Then things changed so fast for them.

Aang was going to leave, he was going to be taken away from her and that wasn't going to happen with the two of them. They had made a plan and got everything they would need the most and left with Appa.

They left home without a trace. They left the only other family they had and they didn't even make it to where they wanted to go. Both of them were gone. The Avatar and Luna were gone, never to be seen again.
