Todoroki couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped his mouth before clamping down on his tongue as he looked on in amusement. And frustration. For fucks sakes, why was he so hard to keep alive?!
Stain was too busy glaring at Izuku to turn on Todoroki or answer Shigaraki's question. He hadn't even realized Shigaraki had been talking. When he snapped back to the phone, a figure darted into the alleyway and into the shadows. Todoroki and Izuku sent each other a look of confusion but didn't say anything. Stain completely missed the figure.
Izuku decided that since the figure was hiding they were most likely a good guy. He would use the most cliche thing he knew to distract him.
"So Stain, whats you're plan?"
Stain took a deep breathe and closed his eyes, silently counting to ten in his mind. "No."
"No what?" Todoroki questioned.
"Just no."
"But-,"
Stain threw his hands up. "That's it. Shigaraki's going on speaker!"
That was all it took for Izuku's breath to freeze. "No no no! Please, I'm sorry! You can't, I-,"
It was Todoroki's turn to freeze at the complete switch in Izuku.
"I can and I am," Stain hissed, pressing the speaker button on his phone with way more force then necessary. "You're on speaker with Izuku and Endeavors kid."
"I have a name," Todoroki spat. "Don't loop me in with that bastard."
"Little bunny," a cursed familiar voice cooed. Izuku shivered and tears pricked at his eyes. He tried to open his mouth only to choke on the words he wanted to say miserably. "You think you're all smart running away like that, don't you?"
Izuku clamped his mouth shut and instinctively looked down.
"I want an answer, Izuku. Now."
"No sir." Izuku's voice was weak and trembly, barely audible to even Todoroki who was right next to him on the ground.
"Yeah you do. But it's okay cause when we get you back," Shigaraki paused for effect, "We'll make sure you remember your place."
Suddenly Izuku was gasping for breath. He couldn't breath as the room started to spin. He couldn't even gasp out a simple "no!"
Izuku started struggling from where he was tied up. Stain sighed in annoyance and slammed his foot into Izuku's face, causing him to topple to the ground with a gurgled grunt.
That was all it took for the figure to jump and and smash Stain's phone on the ground, stepping on it to crack and shatter it.
Izuku could still hear Shigaraki's yells fading out as the phone slowly got destroyed. He couldn't get himself to look up at the newcomer, though Todoroki had no such restraint.
"Iida?!"
Stain frowned. "Oh it's you. I remember you, you're that kid I spared forever ago. That fake polices brother. Tensei-something."
Izuku remained sideways against the ground. His eyes had dulled as he tuned out the world around him. He didn't care.
Iida glared at Stain. "Let. Them. Go."
Stain raised his knives to his face, slowly licking off Todoroki's blood. Todoroki scrunched up his face. "Come and save them then."
Iida snarled and flung himself forward, throwing kick after kick. He whipped around Stains knife as he flung them carelessly.
