Dinner is going to be awful. Not only do I have to sit next to Lucius, but I have to confront my father. He should not have made this deal without telling me beforehand.
I walk downstairs and already see both men talking and drinking. What does my father see in him? He's nothing more than an arrogant asshole.
"Ah, Amora you made it. Sit down sit down." My dad ushers. Of course he's gonna kiss my ass. My mom just shakes her head.
I begrudgingly take the seat next to manwhore. He looks at me and then looks away. His hand is resting on his leg, tapping.
"So, I'm sure you guys talked in the library." My dad is trying to start a conversation.
"Yes." Is all I say. Lucius just smirks.
"Good. Hopefully you like steak Lucius?" My dad asks.
"Yes, I do." He states. I'm pretty sure he's a robot.
The cook brings out the food. The steak looks good, but I can't eat. This is too much.
"So, Lucius, how is Monaco? It must be really warm down there?" My mom smiles at him.
"Yeah. It's nice." How is he so emotionless? Ugh. I don't think I can be married to a robot. I've had enough.
"Dad, why did you make this stupid deal? Does he owe you money? Do you owe him money? Is this some kind of ransom scheme?" I question. Lucius's fingers stop tapping.
"Amora, not now." My dad warns. Please.
"Yes now. This man who is all over the gossip magazines and is a womanizer! You would never let me be with him unless there's something for you involved."
"Amora, honey, please stop." My mom pleads. I cannot believe Lucius hasn't said a word, but he looks angry. Really angry.
"I'm not going to tell you what he offered me. So stop it. Just suck it up Amora. You knew this was coming whether you liked it or not. Grow up and join the real world. Stop acting like a child." With that, the king stands up and storms out. I get up and go to my room.
I slam the door and cry onto the silk sheets. Why is my father so intent on me marrying Lucius? Why is Lucius so blank? Why did he call me a slut when we met? What is happening?
The tears poured out and they couldn't stop. At this point, marrying some Andorran bastard in the slums would be better than this.
After about an hour of my fit, I hear a knock on the door. It's rough and loud. It's not my mom.
"Come in." I sniffle. My light is out, so I can't see who it is.
"You embarrassed me." Lucius sneers, flicking the lights on. My eyes quickly shut tight, adjusting to the light.
"You? You are the least of my problem." I retort. Who does he think he is?
"Well, I should be. People who talk back to me don't fair well." What is that supposed to mean?
"You can't do anything to me. You and I are fake. You have no power over me."
Lucius's fists ball up and back again. This is bad. He's really angry with me.
"Dont test me Amora. You have no idea how much I could hurt you." He barks. That scared me. I don't want him to hurt me.
"I-I" is all I can muster. He scoffs at me.
"That's right. Don't test me. I will turn your ass black and blue if that ever happens again." And with that, he leaves, slamming the door behind him.
Now I was really crying. Lucius wanted to hurt me. I was nothing to him. Tears flowed out of me. I knew he would put his hands on me eventually. And there's nothing I can do about it.

I must have cried myself to sleep. Everyone's words hurt me greatly. I don't want to go downstairs. I can't look at Lucius after what he said to me last night.I decide to call my Friends from London. Theo and Raina have been there for me since we met at a summer retreat in France. Theo's dad owns a big tech company and Raina's mom owns her own law firm. They both ooze the kind of success that isn't passed down. You make it.
"Hey bitch! How did the dinner go?" Raina says. She is so much prettier than me. Ugh.
"Yeah, you never called us after like you said you would!" Theo scolds. His curly blonde hair is in his eyes.
"Not great. Terrible actually. You'll never believe who my father chose." This is going to be hard to tell them. Raina has been crushing on Lucius since 8th grade.
"Who? I hope he's hot and powerful!" Raina teases.
"Lucius Balcray."
"What?? Like the Lucius Balcray?" Raina screams. She's practically jumping up and down. Theo just frowns.
"Isn't he an asshole?" Theo asks. He's completely correct.
"Yes. He's possibly the most arrogant disrespectful man I've ever met." Raina rolls her eyes. She obviously is jealous. Why, I don't know.
"Oh come on! Your so lucky that you get to have that eye candy around. And, he's like 25! He must be so mature! Ugh, your so lucky." Shes practically drooling. It's honestly kind of annoying me. Judging by what happened last night, I don't think anyone wants to be near him.
"Then why are you marrying him? Isn't it your decision?" Theo asks. He's the one who sees reason.
"He must have made a deal with my father. I'm not sure what exactly he offered, but my father loves him for it. He also calls me kitten. He's an asshole." If this doesn't shut Raina up, I don't know what will.
"Hey, I've got a great idea, why don't we come visit you? We haven't seen each other in forever and maybe I could talk some sense into your asshole fiancé?" Raina suggests. That would actually be awesome. I need some friends right now. Theo has certainly changed his tune. He looks happy.
"Yeah, you both can come around whenever! I'm sure you can stay in one of our 30 bedrooms!" I laugh.
"Great! Well hop on the next flight out!" Theo says. My parents have always loved when they come over, so it's no problem. We say our goodbyes and I go downstairs to tell my family and the maids.
"Sounds great honey. I know how difficult it's been for you lately." My mom coos. My dad just nods his head. I'm glad my friends are coming, maybe Lucius will leave me alone if they are here.
