Leaving Monaco is giving me hope. My visit was a disaster. Getting away from Lucius's father will help me feel better.
I haven't seen Victoria since that day. She must have went back into hiding. Lucius and I have been cordial, nothing more. He does try to flirt with me, but I always reject him.
His servants put our luggage into the limo and the driver gets in. I hug Lucius's mom. I will miss her.
"Venez visiter. Reste avec mon fils. Il a besoin de toi." (Please come visit. Stay with my son. He needs you.) The queen pleads. I nod and step into the car, ignoring his father. I don't want to have any interaction with him.
"Au revoir les parents." Lucius says while getting in the car. He's wearing a dark green suit with a white undershirt. His large tattoo on his chest of a crane is on display.
I think he notices me starting and shakes his head. My cheeks flush.
"I forgot to ask you, what does the pawn tattoo behind your ear mean?" Lucius asks as we drive through the gates.
"H-how did you see it?" I stammer. I don't like that tattoo. I got it when I was in a really dark place.
"When you had your hair in a ponytail." He says.
"It means that I never make my own decisions. I'm just a pawn in this world. I don't make any choices for myself." I say lightly. I feel my eyes water. I really don't like talking about this.
"Hey, don't cry. My life has always been like that too. Do you think I really loved being that manwhore persona? No. I don't. Sure it's fun for a little while, but the sluts get old and the tabloids are hurtful. But look on the bright side, we are filthy rich." He replies. I lightly laugh at his last comment. I sometimes forget how similar we are.
"I suppose. I don't think your all that bad Lucius." I add. I really don't. I think he builds up a strong exterior to hide his real emotions. I can't believe we are having such an intimate conversation. Luckily the partition is up so the driver/bodyguard can't hear us.
"Really? You seem to hate my guts!" He laughs. I laugh with him.
"No, I think your a nice guy when you want to be. You just use your masculinity to mask good sweet side. I know you didn't mean what you said in my room that night. I know you felt something too." I stare into his eyes. He looks at me with a piercing gaze.
"Your right Amora. Your so right." He crashes his lips onto mine. I don't resist. I deepen the kiss and he puts his hand on my neck lightly.
I move a little closer to him, opening my mouth wider to allow him full access. Our mouths feel like they were meant for each other.
I hear his phone buzz in his pocket. At first he ignores it, but we have to come up for air anyway. He reads the called ID and picks up.
"Hello?" He roughly says. I look out the window, seeing the airport in the distance. We are almost there.
"Your majesty. We are calling on behalf of some... business you saw to carrying out." I hear the voice on the other end say. He must have his phone's volume up really loud.
"Ah, I hope everything is according to plan." He says. What kind of business is he talking about?
"Yes, the cocaine arrived on the shores of Spain last week. There is a problem with a couple of the heroin shipments to Portugal." BACK UP. Drugs? The prince is dealing drugs? What the fuck? I shoot daggers at him. He looks at me and rolls his eyes.
"Ugh, don't bother me with this shit. Get someone else for it." With that, he hangs up. My mind is spinning. Why? Where? Who?
"Yes, I sell drugs kitten." He laughs. Why is he laughing? This is a serious matter!
Before I can respond, I hear the driver say we are at our plane. I look out the window to see a different woman and pilot.
Once seated on the plane, I let my thoughts out. Lucius is sitting next to me this time.
"What the fuck? Your a drug dealer! How?" I shout. Why is the prince of Monaco involved in illegal activities!
"Well, Monaco isn't a very large or profitable country. We make most of our money off of tourism, mainly to Monte Carlo. So, I ran into a couple of bad apples and got roped into the drug thing. I want to stop though. I don't take the stuff don't worry." I let out a sigh of relief. If he didn't take it, it wasn't that big of a deal. It's extra income, right?
"Good greif." I roll my eyes. This man will be the death of me. First he's a sex crazed lunatic, and now he's a sex crazed lunatic drug lord? Jesus take the wheel.
"Hey, I know what we could do.." Lucius purrs. I hear the intercom come on and the pilot say we are taking off.
"What?" I ask. I'm not in the mood for his riddles. I feel the ground rumble beneath me and soon we are going up. I hate flying.
"Join the mile high club." Lucius puts his hand on my thigh and sends me a wink.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I exasperate. Why does everything to be sexual with Lucius.
He just laughs and runs a hand through his messy brown hair. I was certainly not having my first time in a plane.
Or with Lucius despite our little teenage make out session. That was just lust. I don't have any real feelings towards him like I do for Theo. What I have for Theo is more realistic then me and Lucius.
The good girl never ends up with the bad boy. It's a myth. I deserve someone kind and respectful like Theo. Whom I will never have.
I sigh and look out the window knowing full well it won't get any better once I get home.
