I'm doing this mostly because I haven't finished the first chapter of the next book. Definitely because I can't choose the time gap I wanna use. So this is a list of random facts/reminders about the book(s) that no body asked for. Enjoy!
- I wrote the first book within the course of two weeks but chose not to post it for two months because I kept changing the plotline
- JoJo's original name was Josephine Elizabeth Morgan
- JoJo was originally blonde
- JoJo joined the tour about a year in
- Cara was added into the plotline super last minute
- Nick was supposed to get a girlfriend before Sky
- Bexley and Cara having glasses (I regularly forget that)
- Cara was originally from France and then I changed it (I don't know why)
- Ben's nickname for JoJo is Sunshine
- Throwback to "Dork" and "Angel"
- Cara and JoJo are distant cousins
- Josh and JoJo act like nonbiological siblings and both their names start with "J." Ben and Bexley act like nonbiological siblings and both their names start with "B." This was 100% unintentional but I wasn't upset when I realized it.
- William was initially going to be JoJo's boyfriend, not her twin. But I figured making him a sibling added a different kind of depth rather than the classic "afraid to love again"
- Remember, Sky and Cara bonded over German chocolate from the grocery store.
- Bexley's favorite book is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
- Penny's name was originally Cassiopeia "Cassie" but I decided against it.
- Natalie was not orginally written in as a "good guy" but I decided to keep her as the amazing icon we now know because I loved her too much.
- Ben and JoJo were supposed to be the ones who broke up until I changed my mind.
- They weren't supposed to go on tour in After Headlines but then I went "why not?"
- Bexley has not seen her biological mother since she was ten years old.
- She also trust Josh more than anyone (including her parents)
- One of my ideas in the early stages of After Headlines was for Josh and Bexley to foster a teenager and her two younger siblings, but I didn't do that
- I tend to stay from the "give each character a love interest" thing, but I liked the idea too much so here we are.
- I had not written for Wattpad in over a year before posting With Love
- We know literally nothing about Natalie's backstory ;)
- There are over 50 unpublished chapters for With Love that I can't use because they make zero sense to the plotline
- We haven't seen DeMarius in a hot sec
- Y'alls comments make my day
- There was six other titles before I settled on After Headlines
- And I didn't choose With Love until five minutes before posting the first chapter.
- With Love was orginally going to be a short story then I wrote 50 chapters
- Only about half of these are interesting, yikes
- My first and middle name are hidden with in the two books. Because I'm fun that way
- Friendly reminder, Penny has a biological sister that we haven't met yet
- Penny can sing
- Really well
- Remember when Anthony threw the crockpot out the window?
- Also, the boys used to break into JoJo's room through the balcony
- Josh is an icon
- None of us can ~really~ see Josh in a relationship but we all stan it anyway
- Bexley's middle name is RiAnn
- JoJo and Ben had fraternal twins, Harper Alessandra and William Benjamin
- Josh and Bexley had a daughter, Analea Hope
- Albert is named after his late Uncle, not his father's role in Newsies
- JoJo had five siblings
- Cara had three siblings
- As far as Bexley knows, she is an only child
- Bexley is Mom™
- Remember that paperclip ring Ben gave JoJo when he left for Tuck?
- She now wears it on a necklace
- And remember that sapphire necklace that Will gave JoJo before the crash?
- And how Maya stole it and lost it?
- Josh used to keep his relationship with Bexley a secret and JoJo didn't figure it out completely until she met her.
- JoJo and Bexley grew up 20 minutes away from each other
- Bexley was a cross country runner
- JoJo is an intense dancer who also knows contortion
- Bexley knows how to swing dance
- Cara orginally was supposed to play the cello but I made a switch last minute in honor of my late great grandfather who played violin professionally
- Cara also plays the piano and guitar but has a strong preference to violin
- Cara was initially going to be named Annika but I changed it
- You really didn't ask for this
- Natalie is slightly taller than Nick
- By like, an inch
- And it bothers him to no end because she can make fun of him for it
- JoJo's favorite TV show is the 100
- Bexley loves wearing Josh's sweatshirts
- JoJo steals Ben's without permission
- Cara sleeps in Sky's because their too big for her to wear out and about
- And Natalie teases Nick and asks if he wants to wear hers
- So they trade sweatshirts
- These are lowkey turning into headcanons and I'm here for it
- On Newsies tour, Josh sacrificed Nick's shoe to the muddy puddle down the road
- Every character was supposed to be 10× more badass but then I realized how inaccurate that would and how difficult that would be to relate to.
- I wanted to use problems that I've seen/experienced so it is somewhat easier to relate to (or at least I try lol)
- Lillian (JoJo's younger sister) is bisexual but she's dating her classmate James
- And she has a group chat with DeMarius and Jeff from when she visited JoJo on tour
- There really was supposed to be only one OC in With Love but that didn't happen
- We've all been personally victimized by Ben's, Josh's, and Sky's dimples
- Might as well at Derek Klena on there while we're at it
- And toss in Antonio Cipriano for good measure (even though he doesn't have dimples)
- the Toursies are iconic and we need a reunion
