Letting the pen glide through the manuscript with her hand only being its humble guide, she let out a sigh out before averting her gaze away from the paper towards the owner of the eyes who bore into her form from a distance. Noticing that the brunette saw him staring, he slowly approached her with a shy expression written all over his face.

"Do you need something?" Sumire questioned, looking at the little boy now standing infront of her. A bit annoyed that someone is staring right at her when she's peacefully writing to escape the fact that she is indeed inside of a hospital. The one place that she thought of a prison for the first ten years of her life.

"Are you an author?" The little boy asked timidly yet glad to know that she could speak in his mother tongue. He smiled at her, patiently waiting for her to answer his question. Sumire's brows furrowed at first, hoping that the kid will catch up with the fact that she's not interested in continuing the conversation he wishes to keep on going with her but she then gave up after seeing the look on his face. It is as though he's almost curious about everything, instantly reminding Sumire of her little brother as a little kid.

"Not really. I'm just...writing." Sumire replied with hesitance clear on her tone, not exactly wanting to make an acquaintance of anyone in this short medical trip of hers. Afterall, she did promise to not involve anyone else anymore.

"My brother is too! Can I see your work?" The kid who appeared to be in the age of ten, politely asked with a bow before he sat right next to Sumire in the waiting area. The brunette stared at him for a moment, pobdering whether she would reply or not before giving in.

"Unfortunately, the genre that my works belong to aren't for anyone of your age still. Besides, I'm not writing for an audience." The brunette firmly stated in dismissal as she stared down the little ravenette boy as if to intimidate him... Which...clearly didn't worked out the way Sumire hoped it would.

"My brother lets me read his novels though. It's about murder and suicide." The boy said in a truly confused manner, causing the brunette actress to look at him in surprise before she mustered her composture back. She sighed in defeat, the situation reminding her of her own parents who shoved her father's novels to her face just because she read one out of boredom... Though it does helped her both in learning Japanese as well as kindle her liking over reading and writing.

"Is your brother insane? Why would he let you read that stuff?" She monotonously asked in lack of actual interest, reasoning with herself that it is exactly just as what she learned from childhood as normal. Normalities for the Kudo family is what others would deemed as unusual and extremely dangerous. One of the things to prove that dated way back when Sumire was just seven years old, the time when her father brought her to crime scenes just so she could learn a thing or two on how to write even when she couldn't understand what other people are saying - which Kudo Yukiko punched her husband for.

"He said it reminds him of our father. He died when I was just two, so it's always been just me and my brother." The ten years old stated with a smile on his face, having Sumire furrowed her brows for his obliviousness perhaps... Or is it the fact that the little kid seems unbothered.

"My name is Richard Kendal but please just call me Ricky. What's yours?" Ricky asked with a smile, not exactly giving Sumire a chance to escape the conversation. The brunette eyed the kid for a bit before replying, anxious as she's not exactly the best with dealing with people in a way outside of work. Though she soon dismissed her discomfort as exaggeration.

"Sumire..." She muttered under her breath, still mentally contemplating whether to continue but seeing that it's merely a child, she decided to let it go.
