Sumire and Rei sat next to each other with the brunette's head leaning over the blonde's shoulder. Rei smiled as he looked down on her before averting his gaze towards the plane window that Sumire hogged all to herself at the beginning of the flight until she got dizzy and decided to nap for a bit.
Honestly, Rei still couldn't believe everything that have happened over the past few years and everything turned out fine with the unfortunate number of casualties from both side. Nonetheless, he's glad that both Sumire and himself didn't have to pay for the price to defeat the organization. In fact, the two rekindle and are actually on their way to London to celebrate their fifth year of being in a relationship.
Sure, It's been a while since the two found each other again and started a relationship but the brunette just couldn't help but think that she didn't deserved such a man. Afterall, it's already a lot to deal with her attitude at first and then you'll have to get used to her reckless actions. Aside from that is how she knew Rei deserve someone who can give him the taste of normality as it's the one thing she couldn't ever give to him. After all the things that ever happened in his life, he deserves a rest. To be in someone's arms, who could give him all the things he missed out earlier on his life because of the grief his own dream brought to him as much as he wouldn't trade everything he ever experienced and learned for anything in this world full of bittersweet happenings.
Sumire could still remember the days she spent comtemplating whether to hold on or let go. Whether to stay with him for her own selfish love but couldn't give him what he deserves or have him be in someone else's embrace and have everything he could ever ask for. It's a hard choice for her and she kept those thoughts to herself in fear of what Rei's comment would be... Would he scold her for even thinking of such thing? Or would he admit that he's been waiting for her to say that?
In the end, she's still weak. She's still the little girl who got herself helplessly taken by the enemy and couldn't do anything about it.
She's still the naive woman who couldn't match the pace of time. She's always been the one being one step behind everyone else.
Rei on the other hand, cherish every moment he could spend with her. To him, it doesn't matter what he could have as long as he's with her. It's enough.
Enough to see the woman he loves for a long time finally smile without any hint of pretending. Enough to be with her in every step of the way to fight for what they believed in and sworn for together. Enough that he could hold her tenderly in his embrace as it proves it's all real. It's not just a sweet dream that he could wake up from any moment from now.
Sure he knew about her pessimistical thoughts, afterall he's the only one who could manage to read her. He despise that she could thought of such things when she's everything he ever wanted and needed in his bittersweet life. Though he hates those thoughts of hers and he wanted to cease them as soon as possible, Rei wanted to show her how much he loves and cares for her for when they arrived at the city Sumire's home first belonged to. To convey her home from a place to the person she now most treasures as he'll forever be her home from that moment onwards.
Rei smiled at Sumire's sleeping form as he gripped a very meaningful small box inside his pocket, which contains an even more meaningful and important thing. He wanted to lift the heaviness off her shoulders by showing that small thing to her in one knee, asking her four simple yet powerful words that would bind their hearts forever.
He soon lets go of the box and hugged her sleeping figure before breathing in her scent, reminding him that this is all real. Not just a dream he had the night before that he would want to resume after he gone to bed because it's real.
And with that, he muttered the words he could only ever dream of five years ago.
"Furuya Sumire... I love you."

Hope you guys liked this~ ,
There's a lot more to come that is in this fluff style in the main story. Though, it'll be a bit later on as I'm wanting some character development for Sumire as for me you could say that she's pretty bland. What I meant is that there's no depth to her personality or is her full persona is understandable - though that's what I wanted at the beginning but hey, the story is progressing.I'll be publishing the next chapter for when the new chapter in the manga is released, so that I can make sure that my writing isn't crashing with the plot of the manga itself. I'll just adjust if it does happen though so I don't have to delete a whole chapter.
I'm actually feeling a bit down and all because we couldn't celebrate with my mom because she's stuck in Hong Kong right now because of Covid to make money as a maid... Okay, sorry for even putting this here. Have a great day everyone~
Anyways, thank you for reading~
Let's hope for the best for this year!
