"Ah, Jii-san. Can I have a cup of coffee?" Sumire asked as she rest her chin on her hand, ignoring how a certain someone sat on the chair that is being occupied by Shuichi earlier.
"Of course, Ojo-sama--" Jii started before he was cutted off by the blonde PSB police officer.
"You shouldn't give her what she wants. She almost fainted a few days ago after doing something then drinking coffee when she's dehydrated." Rei stated as he sent a rather convincing innocent smile towards Sumire, earning himself a glare from the brunette. Before she could retort about her condition and well being though, Rei gave her a look he often give to his subordinate whenever Kazami would reason or even started talking about unneccesary stuffs.
Sighing in defeat, she gave the assistant of her mentor a nod.
"Let me just have some of Kaito's hot chocolate then..." She said with her eyes glaring daggers at Rei, trying to cease him in her head for intervening her usual coffee break for something that happened days ago.
Calming down, she sighed as her mind wanders off into a daze. The words said to her in a text message by Hattori Shizuka as part of a lesson of sort twirling around in her head as she is having a hard time defining it based on the rest of their previous lessons on etiqette.
"Love the house and its crow." She muttered to herself, forgetting for a moment of the presence of the blonde Public Security officer beside her.
"Huh?" Rei looked at her in question, causing Sumire to get out of her daze. Sighing, she responded to his confusion.
"A lot of people in my life rather give me riddles than clear answers."
"Long-lasting love means accepting your partner’s imperfections, so you should love the whole house—even the crow sitting on it." Rei nodded after stating the words behind the saying, fingers cupping his chin as he thought more of it before he subly frown. It is a saying associated with love afterall and someone said it to the woman he's starting to properly court in the midst of the darkness the organization are continuously spreading.
"If you love someone, you will love also the things associated with that someone." He continued, staring at the female who is now drinking her warm beverage with class as a result of all her trainings from Hattori Shizuka.
"Who...told you that proverb?" The blonde police officer asked with hesitance clear on his tone but before Sumire could even reply, her phone suddenly picked up a call. She sent Rei a look to ask for permission that the blonde lightheartedly gave before answering through her old earpiece as she still haven't activated nor connected it to her mobile phone yet.
"Yes? This is Sumire Kudo speaking. Ah, Director Wada. The premiere night will be two days from now? What do you mean in Japan? So the casts will be in different places then? Wouldn't that be risky? And Ren? I understand."
"I'll get going. I'm going to prepare for tonight." Sumire announced as she rose up from her seat with a neutral expression plastered on her face, sending her superior a nod as if asking for permission to do as she says.
"I'll go with you, Sumi." Jodie stated, following after the brunette as soon as Sumire nodded in acknowledgement. The two Federal agents walked in silence until they reached Sumire's red corvette.
"Spill it." Sumire simply ordered once being in the safety of her car, causing Jodie to slightly flinched in surprise before averting her eyes towards the other female who started to drive them out of the parking lot into the road.
"What do you mean?" The American agent asked, playing the role of the innocent which caused a microscopic smirk to masked the brunette's face as if wanting to point out all of her co-worker's mistakes with her acting.
