Will something be different?
It won't be something like that
But this day will be over
When the minute and second hands overlap
The world holds its breath for a little while
Zero O'Clock
_______________________Six years have gone by since the birth of Kudo Shinichi and the kidnapping case of his older sister, Kudo Sumire. The two grew close together and for that, their parents are grateful for as they once somehow feared that Sumire would've blamed her brother for what happened.
Shinichi, during the past six years have been showing signs of interest for mystery which Yukiko entirely blames Yusaku for but of course, she too are happy for her little knight. The barely seven years old incoming first grader also shows that he seemed to be looking up to his older sister, seemingly wanting to participate in cases too with his father and sister. He even still treasure the police car plushie that Sumire got him on his last birthday even though she would always disappear after giving her present, showing his admiration of the police. He's developing a stubborn personality too as time goes by.
His sister, however started to mature in terms of both physical appearances and intellegence. As Sumire grew up, she became looking much like her mother and because of it, Yukiko have been trying to get Sumire to atleast appear on screen even just as a minor character but Sumire remained loyal to her dream to be a police officer while starting to write more short mystery novels that Yusaku are definitely proud of.
But things are not fortunately all good for her...
To this day she still have been trying so hard to push aside her memories that she accidentally learned from Professor Agasa to be the ones that she have lost after she told jim about the clinic she recalled while on her walk with her psychiatrist and his son.
The sight of her parents crying on that day she woke up is still haunting her and the very thought of having to go through that again is scary for her to be so careful of her actions ever since.
Vermouth's words only made her more anxious, causing her to be wary of everyone except her family, the police officers assigned on her case, the few people who helped her and Professor Agasa in fear of getting taken advantage of like she's been told what happened again but she remained humble and kind. She deduced that she needs no mask such as Vermouth stated as she absolutely have nothing to hide, or atleast not yet.
A thin scar was still present on the brunette's neck though, reminding her of that particular day that she couldn't even remember.
She became more mature despite her still young age, taking advantage of a situation while it lasts as time itself is worth more than just money to her.
Sumire sighed, taking off the ribbon securing her side braid off before untangling her brown hair. She stared right at her reflection with her bright cobalt blue eyes, reminiscing some memories from six years ago that she could still manage to remember as those are the ones before and after that unfortunate day...
"Sumi-neechan, Oka-san said you should come down to start celebrating your graduation." Shinichi called out as he pushed the door to Sumire's room open, startling the brunette by the sudden intrusion. Shinichi approached her and stared at her with his big bright cobalt blue eyes, which caused Sumire to sigh knowingly at her brother.
"Let's go then, Shin-chan." Sumire smiled as she offered her hand for Shinichi to grab on, which he took without showing how happy he is just because he's stubborn enough to deny that he loves his sister despite his obvious actions.
