A certain brunette layed peacefully under the covers of her blanket as if all problems in her life was solved and that everything is finally working out for her, as if even Hypnos himself is letting her rest at last. The bags under her eyes are no longer visible, treated with enough rest as no nightmare longer haunts her. The sunlight that went through thea windows hit her sleeping face, the curtains pushed back by a certain blonde in attempt to wake her up but she merely tossed around until she's facing away from the direction of the windows.
Rei simply sighed before pushing the blanket off her, taking a sit on the side of the queen sized bed. He let out a small smile at the peaceful expression on her face, happy that they are both living their best life yet. He brought his hand on her shoulders and gently began to shook her, only receiving a groan and a swat on the side of his face from the sleeping brunette. Rei comically flinched and stared at the former FBI agent almost in disbelief, letting out a playful scoff as he mentally prepared himself for what to come.
He stood up and approached her dresser, pulling out her pink rimmed glasses. Rei held it up by its temples and came next to her again.
"If you don't get up right now, I'll drop and step on your glasses." Rei smirked as he saw Sumire practically threw herself off the bed, already trying on snatching back the poor glasses on the blonde's grip. Sumire exclaimed in protest as Rei held it up away from her, not letting her get away from swatting him across the face.
"Give it back! I can't see!" The former actress yelled as she made a pathetic leap in attempt to reach her glasses, ending up with her rear on the floor. Rei took the chance and slip on her glasses, flinching at the sudden blurriness of his surroundings.
"How can you still see? You're pratically blind!" He yelled as he yank it off of his face, not noticing Sumire slipping on her contact lenses and getting out of the room without a word in hurry.
Sumire made her way towards the other room on their house, hearing the crying more loudly as she neared the nursery. She pushed the door opened and immediately made her way to their only months old daughter. The brunette smiled as the tiny dirty blonde bundle of joy quickly stopped her wailing as soon as she felt her mother's touch. Her beautiful heterochromatic cobalt and light blue eyes almost made Sumire tear up as she remembered the day she gave birth to her angel, remembering how doctors continouosly told her that she couldn't be able to bear a child. It was way too early when her angel came out, which the doctors connected to Sumire's former conditions being once a premature baby herself.
Another scar was etched on her body as a result and even if she said that she doesn't care, this one will be the only one she's proud of.
Sumire let out a chuckle as her baby, gripped on her finger, finding it quite ironic how she ended up giving up all her persona and jobs in exchange of her life now considering a lot of people describe her as married to her job, though the amethyst silver band on her left ring finger clearly stated otherwise.
She felt arms gently wrapped around her waist from behind, the blonde baby girl giggled as she saw her father's face snuggled against her mother's neck.
"I'm lucky to have you two... Sumire... Kei..." Rei muttered as his hold tightened, placing a gentle peck on his wife's neck.
Little Kei only giggled at the sight of her mother's smile, not realizing at the moment that her parents wished for her to create her own light, just like how she brought them light when she was born.
She is their joy.
HER pride and sign of a new beginning.
HER own.
