Daniel's Point of View-
"Oh well, I guess I have no more business here," I say, walking towards the trashcan to throw my trash away. After I do so, I turn around, and he's looking at me nervously. I know he wants to say it, it couldn't be any more obvious, but he can't do it by himself, so I'm going to have to nag it out of him. I walk past him, "I'll be leaving now."
That's when I feel him jerk my hand, and pull me into his seat aisle. I fall on his chest, and he wraps his arms around me tightly, not wanting to let go. "Yes, Daniel, I fucking love you," he whisper into my ears, "Please don't leave me, no, not again. Brianna is a fucking slut, and she doesn't deserve you. When you came into my life, I was too blind by my own lust when I first met you, that I did what I did. I didn't get the chance to see you for who you truly were, not just another random person to have sex with. You are a very attractive, and caring person, and I don't think I would've made it through this week without having you."
As I hear him say it, my heart is pounding and I feel as though I'm about to cry. I didn't think that I was such a big deal in his life, but he really thinks so. He uses one of his hands, and crosses it with mine, entwining our fingers. I don't care if anybody sees us, honestly, this is one of the happiest moments in my life. He looks at me nervously, wanting judgement on his actions, and so I nod.
I nod, and then I fall asleep. I could stay like this forever, because even though we've barely known each other for a while, I know Scott is my true loved one.
...
I feel someone tapping my shoulder, and then I wake up. I'm inside a car, Scott's car? I see him on the driver's seat, looking at me reluctantly. He smiles for a second, "Hey, you're finally awake," he says. "Where are we, did you carry me outside?" I ask, looking backwards and seeing the donut place still beside us in the empty parking lot. "Yeah, I did, I didn't want to wake you up," he says, looking down. For some reason I found that sort of cute.
"I couldn't find your parents or anything, and my car was the only car in the parking lot," he points out. "How did you get here all by yourself?" He asks. "My mum dropped me off here," I say, now realizing how stupid it sounded. Who's mum would drop them off at a donut place, with a friend they've barely known? I guess I'm lucky that Scott has a car, but I don't want to get in his way and have to drive me home.
"Do you have a ride?" He asks. "Yeah, I can just call my mum," I say, reaching into my pocket and trying to find my phone. He then blurts out, "No! It's fine, I can take you home." I look at him a little nervously. This isn't what I wanted, we probably live far away from each other, there's no way I can have him drive me home. "Scott, it's fine-" I start to say, but he interrupts me again.
"Where do you live?" He asks. I sigh, and tell him my address, knowing there's most likely no escape from this. "Wait, you live on that street," he asks, eyes widened. "I live on that street as well," he shouts. Seriously? We've been living next to each other all this time and this is the first I find out about it.
"Well then," I say, looking up at the sky. "It's still morning, and I guess none of us are planning to go back to school," I look over at him, and he's nodding silently. "I'll take you home," he responds, turning his keys in ignition, and driving out of the parking lot. We hit the road in a matter of seconds. The car is really nice, although he likes to keep the hood down, and it's really sunny out today.
He drives in a really concentrated matter, always paying attention to the road. I like how his eyes are so focused. He kept his visor on, although this time he turned it forwards, creation a small shadow on the top of his face. While I stare at him, he notices, and turns his eyes towards me. "What are you starin' at?" He grins.
"Nothing," I say, looking back out the window, bored. I still wonder why my mum was crying this morning. I still can't believe my dad is coming to America this weekend, but if it matters that deeply to her, then I can stand it. "You wanna come to my house?" I blurted out. What, I didn't mean to say that, shoot. "Well, where do you live?" He asks, making a turn. We're already on the street we both supposedly live at, before I even know it.
I point to the to the beige house at the right, and he stops at the side of the driveway. His eyes widened when he looks at the other car there. "Wait, your mom has a rental car?" He asked. "Yeah, we barely just got here and she's still out job-hunting."
"Wow, okay, I didn't know that," he says, still looking out of the car. I step out of the car, onto the concrete driveway. He steps out along with me, and walks up to the front door before I can. He rings the front door before I can as well; I guess he does want to hang out after all. After a moment, the door opens, with my mum standing there in her bed outfit, she looks at me surprisingly.
"Mum!" I groan, embarassed by Scott having to see her like this. "What?"
"Put some clothes on, mum!"
"Oh come on now, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend," she asks, eyeing him up and down. I hope she wouldn't ask him anything personal about why he was at the donut place or anything.
"His name is Scott."
That's when her eyes widened, as if something in her heart just died. I looked at her a little curiously, and she stepped back a little, making the whole thing a bit more dramatic. I heard her whisper something under her breath, I couldn't tell what it is, but she shook her head, and gestured for us to come inside. "Scott, yes, why don't you two come in," she stuttered. What's wrong with her?
We both walked in silently, and he looked just as confused as I was. "Dear, um, why don't you take Scott up to your room and show him around. I'm sorry, I need to um, make a few phone calls," she's already walking away from us into her room, taking out her phone, and pretending to dial some random numbers. At least I think?
My mum is acting really strange, and I think she's hiding something from me, but she's probably just surprised that I have a friend over at my house so early into the school week. Oh, she only knows the least of it. I ran up to my room, and I heard Scott follow me from behind. I sat on my bed, and he stepped in, nervously pushing the door behind him closed.
"What was that all about," he finally asked.
"I don't know, sorry my mum is so weird."
"It's okay, my dad is weird too, but we don't talk alot."
Hearing the word dad reminded me of my own father, and I sort of cringed back to the wall on my bed. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing," I asked.
So far, this was going pretty smooth. Thanks to me and my mouth, we've barely met, what are we supposed to do now? If you've made friends with a rapist and now he's standing in your room, you'd feel uncomfortable too. This makes me wonder though...
"So, what do you want to do," I asked him first. This would determine what his plans were.
"Well," he said upbeat, going to the other side of my bed, and sitting on it. Oh boy, I already know where this is going. It couldn't be more obvious.
"There's lots of things we can do," he said.
"We can watch some TV," he says, gesturing to the television, "Play some games," he continued, pointing to my game console that I brought with me from Europe, "Or..."
"Maybe, we could have some real fun?"
And here it comes.
