Sarah Bullei's Point of View-

I hung up the phone and sighed. My baby's first day of school, and he asks to come home early. Something is obviously wrong, and I don't think he's sick. I was in bed, with my laptop, looking at job listings. Guess that will have to wait until later. I closed it, and tiredly climbed out of my bed into my slippers, and into my closet.

I picked out a white tee shirt, and some regular sweatpants, and I put on my robe. His school was pretty far away, and the busses didn't come around this area. I went downstairs and grabbed the keys from the table, and jolted off into the car outside. It's only a rental car until we're able to afford our own. I sat down on the seat, and pressed my hands against the wheel.

I can't say I blame him for all of this happening to him all of a sudden, it's a very sudden move, and it's across the country, so I would expect nothing less. I can only hope that he will forget the whole thing back in France, and start a new life here. I turn my keys in the slot and push on the gas. The car begins driving down the road, and on the path towards his school.

...

After about an hour, I finally make it. I drove slow since I really didn't feel like getting up this morning, but at least I made it. I checked the watch on the car, 2:19. I stepped out of the car, and into the building. A woman sitting behind a desk in front of me looked up and smiled. "Hi, how may I help you?"

"Hi, yes, I've come to pick my son up early,"

"Okay, your son's name please?"

"Daniel Bullei."

She browsed on her computer for a few minutes, and then smiled, "Yes, Mr. Bullei. First day here," she teased. "I'll go ahead and call him down," She went on the telephone, and called whatever class he was in. I hope he's ready to start talking, because I'm not happy coming down here in the middle of the day. She put the telephone down, "Yes ma'am, he'll be here shortly," and with that, I helped myself to sit on one of the seats by the wall. What a silly little boy, it's his first day, what could go wrong?

...

So almost half an hour had passed already, or so I think, and still no sign of him. What's going on? "Um, is he coming at all?" I asked blatantly from my seat, still sitting, impatiently.

"Yes," she looked a bit nervous, "I'll try calling again."

She picked up the phone and called whatever class he was in, again.

"Mr. Horen? Yes. Please send Daniel Bullei down for early dismissal."

... "What do you mean you had already sent him down, I called you half an hour ago."

... "Oh.. Okay then.. Goodbye."

Eavesdropping on their conversation, I stared at her waiting for answers. "They said that he had already left half an hour ago.. We don't know where he is right now,"

"Oh God.." I said. It's already been half an hour and my baby isn't here to come home yet. I hope he didn't get into any trouble, Good Lord.

Where could he be?
