"Cheer up, dear, I'm sure you'll enjoy it," my mother said, hands on the wheel. No, I'm sure it'll be a big shitfest and people will laugh at me for my glasses and French accent.

I've studied about the U.S. and their high schools for way too long after she said we'd be moving. I'm lucky I know English fluently, or else I'd be picked on even more.

"Can't I just say I'm sick or something," I resorted to begging as soon as I saw the school pull up. "School has only been open for a week, I bet you'll make lots of new friends," she leaned over the driver's seat to kiss me on the cheek, in front of all the kids walking around. "If you need anything, or something goes wrong, just call me," she said.

"Okay," I sighed, and stepped out the car with my light backpack. Nobody saw me, so I think I'm safe. I began walking towards the school, and as soon as I step on the stairs, everybody looks up as if they heard a gunshot.

Everyone, looking at me, with blank stares. I heard a few girls behind a tree whispering, and a guy with his friend pointing and laughing. Great.

I shaked it off, and continued my embark inside the school. Not many people were inside, that's good, everybody only gave me short glances, but I paid it little attention.

I already got everything set up for what I needed today, yesterday, so I went ahead to my locker to drop stuff off before first period started. I opened my locker, near the cafeteria I guessed that was convenient, and dropped my stuff off.

I turned my back a little hesistantly, to see nobody around, but that creepy feeling that I was being watched. Man, this first-day-of-school fear is really scaring the crap out of me. Suddenly, somebody bumped into me out of nowhere.

All of her books dropped on the floor, "Oh, I'm so sorry," she kneeled down to begin picking up her books, and I did as well to help her. After I handed her all of her papers, she looked at me and smiled. "My name is Brianna," she laughed a little. "Hi Brianna," I said in return.

Her eyes widened a bit as she stood up. "You have a nice accent," she complimented. I pushed my glasses upwards and blushed a little. "Thanks," I said.

"You're the new kid right?"

"Mrs. Adamant said we'd be getting a new kid in our class," she explained. Mrs. Adamant was my first period teacher of course, I have her for science.

"Yes, I am, I'm Daniel," I said. Thankfully she wasn't one of the people who picked on the new kids. I feel a bit relieved. Suddenly, the bell rang, which made me catch my breath.

"Let's walk to class, yeah?" She smiled.

The hallways were rushing with students entering the building, but we didn't have to swerve our path that much. A guy brushed across my shoulder, and we both stopped in our tracks to look at each other.

His face looked tense and angry, and he had a backwards visor cap covering his green eyes. All of his clothing was dark and shady, which gave me shivers. "Sorry,"

He gave me one last glare, before saying sternly to where only I could hear, "Fuck off," and left my presence. I turned back to Brianna, who looked at me with a shocked face, but then quickly calmed herself.

"Daniel, whatever you do, leave that guy alone."

"Why, what's his problem?"

"It's best if we just leave it at that," she says, head down and continuing to lead me to class.

Who was that guy, and what's his deal?

Jeez.

We finally got there, the door was open and half of the kids were sitting down at grouped tables, while Mrs. Adamant drew something on the board. She instantly turned around to greet me, and Brianna went to her table.

"Oh, you must be the new student!"

"What is your name, sir?"

"My name is Daniel Bullei," I said, and she also complimented me on my accent, "What a lovely accent you have!"

"Welcome to Science Class, Mr. Bullei, you can go sit down at that table," she pointed at one of the tables in the far end. I walked casually over there, and was a little delighted to see Brianna already sitting there in the corner, giving me a small wave.

A guy was already sitting there beside her, with papers on his desk. The blonde looked up and smiled, "Yo." His eyes were sparkling blue and nice-looking.

He looked kind of cute, but just a pretty face, nothing more. I smiled back, and said, "Hey," but then he looked up at the front of the classroom.

That guy from before came in, his face couldn't be more serious. Fists clenched, he faced Mrs. Adamant who had a disappointed look on her face.

"You're late again, Scott," she said.

The boy scowled in return, not even giving a crap. He rolled his eyes, and began walking straight towards me. Shit. Mrs. Adamant sighed, and simply went back to writing on the board.

"The next time it happens, I'll have to call home."

He walked straight behind me, and sat down on the stool right beside me. Great, he sits at my table. I eyed Brianna, and she just shrugged. "We will begin class now, everyone take out your notebooks and turn to page 8, and write this on the board," she instructed, "Daniel, ask somebody at your table for the notes you've missed."

The blonde guy was the first to offer me his notes, thankfully. "My name is Nico," he began, and as I reached out to grab the notes, something jerked my hand back reluctantly.

I turned around, and Scott gave me a death glare, and gestured to the scrapped paper in his other hand.

MEET ME AFTER SCHOOL.
