Daniel's Point of View-

I heard her sigh, which meant that this was something she wasn't going to enjoy explaining, but as much as I hated to pull information out of her, I needed to know. Half of me is deciding to go out and tell the police right now, and the other half of me is telling me to keep quiet. I need to know about him, so I can figure things out.

"... Fine, here goes."

"He came about a year before you did, and he wasn't so different then as he was now. Everybody saw him as some gothic freak, and some of the other people like me, tried to make friends with him before, but he would just simple push us away. It's like he didn't want anybody in his life, no friends, not even a girlfriend! It later came one day where he was like, super angry, and all of us just stayed away from him, until that one kid accidentally stepped on his shoe one day. You won't believe me when I said he was beyond pissed, he gave that kid a glare, and if looks could kill, he would be dead 5 times right now. The next day that kid came to school, and he was all shaken up and disturbed, like something had happened to him. We had all suspected that it was his doing, but we didn't ask about it, and the kid wouldn't tell anybody about it. That was like, the only time somebody messed with him, and you just... Well, you just weren't in the right place at the right time I guess when you bumped into him. I don't know what his problem is, if that's what you're coming to ask me, believe me, I've been wondering that for months, and I've simple just given up on trying to figure it out. Anyways, that's the whole story about him, and since you did bump into him, are you okay, did he do anything to you?"

I'm a bit shocked at all of this, but I still don't want to tell anybody, "No.. No he didn't do anything," I heard her sigh in relief. "Ah, that's good, I was worried about you for a second when you said you wanted to leave early."

"Yeah.. I'll talk to you tomorrow, yeah? Thanks for telling me about all this, I'll try not to get involved with him."

"That's good. Yeah I'll talk to you tomorrow, bye."

She hung up before I could, and I sat on my bed silent. He probably had some history before in his previous schools that caused him to be like this, but this still doesn't give him a reason or a right to just rape an innocent guy. I like him and all, and I know he's gay, and so am I, but I don't want him getting in my life like this. Tomorrow, I'm going to talk to him, and we're going to settle this, face to face, whether my face ends up being flattened or not.

...

"Come on, son, we have to get to the school now if you want to have time before first period starts," she said, right beside me, watching me eat my cereal.

I'm always tired in the mornings, and my mum is always annoying in the mornings, why. She was right though, I needed to get to school early so I could try to find and talk to him. I finished eating my breakfast quickly, and then rushed to the car outside. She walked slowly outside behind me, and got into the driver's seat as I got into the passengers seat. "Do you still not want to talk about what happened yesterday?" She asked.

"No," the word fell out of my mouth. She didn't turn the car on yet, but looked at me with a disappointed face, and sighed. She shook her head and turned on the car and pulled out the driveway. I feel really bad for lying to her, and not telling her the truth, but this is something I can't let her get involved in.

"I'm sorry, Mum, I want to tell you, but, I'm sorry..."

She sighed, and said, "It's okay, dear. I know you're grown up now and you have your own things to think about, your own responsibilities to take care of," and with that being said, the rest of the road trip was silent on our way to my school.

...

For the second time, I'm here kissing my mum's cheek, and stepping out of her car in front of the school. Most of the kids outside don't seem to care this time, although a few give me a few subtle glances. No time to waste, I begin looking around for Daniel. I can't find him anywhere, so he probably isn't outside, or maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I try to casually walk around the school, looking and looking, without drawing attention to myself by running. I don't know if I passed him or something by accident, but I can't find him, so he's probably inside the school.

I walk inside, the hallways are empty, but I see a guy walking up to me. "Hey Nico," I shout out to him. "Hey, Daniel!"

He runs towards me, books held under his arm, and asks, "What are you doing here so early?"

"Nothing, 'bout you?" I shortened my words. "I'm looking for Brianna, actually. I need her to help me finish some math homework I forgot to do."

"Math? I'm good at math," the words slipped out of my mouth, again. His eyes widened, making his blue eyes sparkle even more. "Really, you wanna help me out, yeah?" At this time, I couldn't deny it, maybe it was how cute he looked, or how it never hurt to help a friend, but who cares. We walk to our math teacher's class, because they have calculators and we sort of would need them to solve the questions on this paper.

Once we get there, we open the door, to see Mr. Horen writing on the board, and a guy sitting at his desk. He looks up at us, and Nico scowls. "Great, it's Scott."

Well, that was convenient, he's wearing the same kind of clothes from yesterday, but today he's wearing a long-sleeve sweater, wrinkled at his wrists. Nico suggests for us to sit away from him. "Hello, students, here to finish work?" Mr. Horen calls out to us, with a smile. "Yes sir," I say, grabbing a calculator from the deck. "Well then, when you're done, turn it in to me on my desk,"

I sat down next to Nico, and he and I began working on his paper. Lucky for me, since it was my first day yesterday, I didn't get bombarded with any homework, that would be saved for today. After a while, Nico said he needed to go use the bathroom, and that he'd be right back. This was my chance.

I get up and slowly walk towards him, while the teacher isn't looking, and sit down in front of him. He doesn't say anything, so I guess I have to say something, "Hey," I turn around. His face is up close at mine, and his eyes narrow a little after I say something to him. "What," he says rhetorically.

"Look," I didn't know what to say, or how to begin this. I'm talking to the guy who fucking raped me yesterday for God's sake. "You should know what. In fact, I should be asking you what. What the fuck? Why did you punch me yesterday," I gesture to my cheek, healing, but still marked red, "Why did you, 'you know what' to me yesterday? What is your problem?" I come out a bit harsh, and sassy, in a whisper, but this isn't something you can just go calm about. I need answers and I need them from him now.

He continues to glare at me, but this time his eyes aren't of death, they are sort of sad-looking. My eyebrows arch themselves in confusion, and he simply looks down from me, in shame. "I'm not talking about it."

What the hell?! He takes away my virginity, and when I come asking questions later, he doesn't want to talk about it. I look at him furiously as he picks up his pencil again to begin writing.

But as he picks it up, his sleeve falls down a little, revealing something that I initially can't determine. My face of fury goes away, as he quickly pulls it back up. He looks back up at me, pencil still in hands, and then sighs. "I'm sorry, okay. I'll pay you, buy you whatever, give you whatever you want, just leave me alone in return," he says shakily. At this point, I forget all about what he did to me, and now I'm a bit more interested in...

I quickly dart my hand toward his sleeve, and pull it up before he can push me back. And that's when I see it. That's when the thing I least expect.

That's when I see the cuts on his skin.
