Chapter 26

                                |Davina's POV|
I arrived at the harvest bright and early because today is the day for the harvest girls to have a captain. It was going to be me but I gave it up to Monique just so she can keep my secret about me and Kol.

It's sucks but this is what I have to do.

"Davina please come up." Genevieve calls me and I sigh heavily. I walk up to her and Genevieve tells me to turn so she can put the harvest crown on me.

I look over at Monique and she is giving me a demanding look.

"Wait!" I stop them. "I change my mind. I don't want to be captain." I lie to them and Genevieve and the regent gives me a surprise look.

"Davina this is a once in a life time opportunity." Genevieve says to me.

"I know but I don't want it. I think the best candidate to be captain is Monique." I lie again.

"Davina you realize there will be no second changes. Right?" Th regent says to me and I nod. "Very well then. If that's what you want then so be it. Monique please come forth." The regent says and I see a bright smile appearing on her face.

I can't believe I just did all of that. Monique better keep her word. My relationship is on the line for this.

The harvest ceremony was over and it was time for us to go home for today until I was call out again by the sound of Monique's voice.

"What do you want?" I say as I slowly turn around.

"I just wanted to say thank you. You did the right thing for the harvest by stepping down." Monique says and she looks proud just wearing my captaincy crown.

"Sure, whatever you say." I say sarcastically as I roll my eyes and begin to walk away.

"There is just one last thing I need you to do for me." She says stopping me from my tracks.

"What is it?" I question her.

"I want you to drop out of the harvest." She admits and I turn and look at her.

"You're obviously joking." I say to her.

"I'm not. I want you gone Davina." She says again and I scoff.

"I'm not dropping out of the harvest. I already gave up my captaincy for you. Wasn't that not enough?" I questioned her. She honestly has lost her freaking mind.

"To be harvest girl requires trust and you broke that. To also be honest and stay loyal and clearly you have other priorities else where." She says.

"What you're forcing me to do is unfair Monique. I work my butt off to get here." I state to her. I can't believe she wants me to quit being a harvest girl.

I worked so hard. I don't want to drop out.

"If you cared about us you wouldn't be doing what you're doing right now." She says " Say your goodbyes Davina because you're not coming to us." She says to me.

I not going to do it. I'm not going to let this bitch take this way from me. Kol is right. I need to stand up for myself.

"I'm not going anywhere." I state to Monique but she just gives me smirk.

"Fine but you've been warned." Monique says to me as she walks pass me.

I hate Monique with a passion and it's time that she learns someone has the guts to stand up in front to her. I'm not sure if my decision was wise but I don't care. I'm not going down without a fight first.
