Chapter 15

|Davina's POV|
I call Josh on my phone an hour ago to meet me because I really need to talk to him. I don't believe Josh was the one draining people of blood but he is a new Vampire.

He probably doesn't know how to control it yet.

"Hey Davina I got your text. What's wrong?" Josh appears and he questions me.

"Can you be honest with me?" I asked him.

"Yes of course." He answered and I sigh.

"The Harvest found dead bodies drained of blood and they are looking for the vampire who did it." I admit to him. "Did you do it?" I questioned him.

"Of course I didn't do it. I've been drinking out of blood bags. I never killed anyone." He admits and I believe him. Josh has never lied to me before and he wouldn't lie now.

"I believe you but I fear you might be targeted if the harvest catches you." I warn him.

"That sucks. I wonder who's doing it?" I hear Josh asked himself.

"Hey can we meet again later? I know where you will be safe at to hide until we figure out who it is." I asked him and nods. "Great. I'll see you later Josh." I say to him as I walk away from him.

I've searched all day for clues about who the missing vampire might be and yet, I found nothing. This is such a bust. I don't even know how to track a vampire.

It's late and I'm getting so tired. I think I should call it a day and head home. As I turn I see a women in the dark and she looks all wobbly looking.

"Hey! Are you okay?" I shout out to her. I don't here a response but I don't want to leave her. Maybe she is hurt or sick? "Do you need help?" I asked her. I can't really see her face. Her hair is covering it.

"I think you will help me a lot." She says in a low voice. She begins to drag me down to her as she begins to pierce her fangs into my neck. I begin to scream in agony.

This pain hurts like hell and I can feel as if my blood is slowly draining from my body. It's weakening me. I start to feel my legs getting numb and I'm starting to loose my balance. My life is single handedly being drained away by a vampire.

This is it. I'm going to die. Forreal this time.

"Davina!" I hear my name being shouted. My vision is blurry. I can't see anyone.

I eventually feel the fangs release from my neck of relief but the pain is still excruciating. My own blood is dripping from the side of my neck. I start to feel very light headed and I begin to faint and everything goes black.

|Josh's POV|
I momentarily push the vampire off of Davina before she manages to kill her.

"Why did you stop me?" I need to finish my mission." The vampire girl manages to say as she regain herself.

"Mission?" I say to myself. "What are you talking about?" I questioned her.

"I was sent to kill the witch Davina Claire." She admits blankly.

"Who told you that?" I questioned her again the vampire scrunches her her eye brows.

"I.... I don't know." She admits and I am confused. How does she not know? "Look. I need to kill her now or I'm dead!" She says and she starts to speed run to Davina. I stop her as I pull on her arm and smash her back against the wall.

"No! Stop!" I shout at her. I wish Davina is awake so she can run away but she's not. It's up to me to protect her now.

"Let me go kid." She bellows as she kicks me in the shin making me grunt for a little. I see her make her way to Davina and I quickly run towards her to again back her to the wall but this time face first. "Get off of me." She struggles to say as her face is still planted on the wall.

"No! I won't let you kill her!" I say to her. I hold her tightly on the wall still.

I can feel her trying to break free but my grip is still tight. She starts to back her head until it hits me on the top of my forehead. I wince in pain as I hold on to it.

"I'm sorry." I hear her say to Davina and I quickly look at her. I have no choice. Shes not going to stop until she kills Davina so I have to kill her.

I speed run up to her and I being to dig my hand into her chest. I can feel her cold blood from inside of her body and I start to dig my way into finding her heart.

"What are you doing?" She says and she sounds out of breath.

"I'm saving my friend. I'm sorry." I say to her and I start to feel her heart. As I grab ahold of it. I close my eyes and pull it out. I hear her gasp as I singling handedly rip her heart out.

She starts to slowly fall down to her knees and I can see her skin to slowly desiccate. Her body is gray and cold now. I look at her heart in my hand and I simply drop it next to her.

I just killed someone for the first time. I took her life away.
