No matter how many times the events played through Aurora's mind, she couldn't believe them. Her home was almost destroyed by stupid humans.

Yes, the Telmarines had no special abilities that made them anything other than humans. It sickened the Ice Warrior.

Aurora found herself sitting next to Lucy, listening to Peter discuss their next strategy. She wanted to shout at him, to scream how he should let Caspian have his say. Maybe she should just let events play out, then kill the High King.

"Cakes and kettledrums! That's your next big plan? Sending a little girl into the darkest parts of the forest alone?" Trumpkin questioned, bewildered at the suggestion. "It's our only chance," the High King said. "And she won't be alone," Susan added.

Trumpkin shook his head. "Haven't enough of us died already?" Trufflehunter put his paw on his friend's shoulder, knowing what he was talking about.  "Nikabrik was my friend too, but he lost hope. Queen Lucy hasn't. And neither have I."

"For Aslan," Reepicheep said. Jasper nodded his head, putting his sword in the air. "For Aslan!"

Peter couldn't help but smile at the brothers. While they were small in size, their courage rivalled even the largest creatures.

Trumpkin turned to Lucy. "I'm going with you." "No," Lucy told him. "We need you here." "And we have to hold them off until Lucy and Susan get back," Peter added.

It was then Caspian finally stepped forward. "If I may," he started. "Miraz may be a tyrant and a murderer. But as king, he is subject to the traditions and expectations of his people. There is one in particular that may buy us some time."

Aurora's eyes widened. "A duel, of course."

Caspian nodded his head: "Precisely. He wouldn't refuse-"

"As he would be deemed-"

"Weak and-"

"Pathetic to be afraid of a King so young," Aurora finished.

Peter huffed, slightly annoyed that the girl he once loved was finishing another man's sentences, as if they were in sync. "I take offence to that."

Aurora shrugged her shoulders, unbothered by his reaction. "I'm afraid I don't care if you do."

Edmund couldn't help but snort as he looked at his best friend. She always did put the High King in his place.

"But who will inform them of the duel?" Susan asked.

"Who better than me?" Edmund said, causing Aurora to nod her head. "As well as me." "I will occupy you both," Glenstorm said.

"Take Wimble Weather with you," Peter told them, confusing Aurora. The giant was far from their best fighter. It was almost as Peter read her mind as he answered her doubt. "His size alone will be intimidating to the Telmarines."
