The Mirror Holds The Answer To Everything

-------- -------- ❄️ -------- --------

Even the thought of the White Witch at the camp terrified Edmund. He knew what she was capable of, he knew what she would and could do. Anyone would be foolish not to be afraid of the Witch.

Edmund stood between his older siblings, Lucy behind them. The older two knew how scared the boy was, they knew the trauma within the boy was high. How could it not be? He was chained up as a prisoner, shown no kindness by the evil Witch.

"All hail, Jadis! The Queen of Narnia!"

Jadis arrived in a sleigh, being carried by four Cyclops'. Her followers stood tall while glaring, growling at those faithful to Aslan. They were all traitors to the Queen. Jadis got down from her sleigh, walking towards the Lion.

"You have a traitor in your midst, Aslan,"

"His offence was not against you," Aslan reminded the witch.  "Have you forgotten the Deep Magic," the witch spoke, almost teasingly. The Lion let out a growl. "Do not cite the Deep Magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was made."

"Then you will know that the boy belongs to me." Jadis pointed to Edmund. "That boy will die on the stone Table."

Peter got his sword, pointing it towards the witch. He wasn't going to allow the evil Queen to take his brother. "You just try and take him."

Jadis turned to the boy, a laugh escaping her mouth. The small boy truly thought he could stop her, someone who had more power in her little finger than he did his whole body. "You think that a simple threat will deny me my right, little king? Aslan knows that if I do not have blood as the law demands, all of Narnia will be overturned, and perish, in fire and water."

"Enough!" Aslan's voice caught the attention of all. "I shall talk to you alone."

Jadis glared at the young kings, before following Aslan into a tent. She was shocked to see Aurora sitting on a chair, a slight cut to the girl's cheek. She sneered at her niece. "Perhaps you have two traitors."

Aurora was shocked that her aunt thought she'd betray her. They were family and family should always stick together. Though given the fact the witch locked her in a cell, perhaps that wasn't the case, perhaps she was foolish.

Aslan shook his mane as he stared at the witch. "Her crimes are not treacherous as she has not betrayed you. She refuses to give up any information, despite the young King's desperate attempts and interrogations."

"Very well. You wish to take away my right, what is mine. I will have the boy and he will die on the table," Jadis said.

Strangely the thought of Edmund dying made Aurora uncomfortable. The boy was a traitor and she still thought he'd make an excellent soldier, swordsman.

"I wish to offer a compromise," Aslan started, "Edmund will not go on the stone table and you will have your niece."

Jadis laughed, confusing Aurora. Surely she'd want her safe and not with the enemy. "I would rather her stay and rot, than not get what I am owed."

"Charmed," Aurora spat at the witch. She thought her aunt cared about her, she was proved wrong. Family was supposed to mean something, especially to Jadis, who wanted revenge for the death of her sister.

Aurora couldn't help but wonder why Jadis deemed her worthless. She was clearly worthless in her aunt's eyes if she wouldn't even save her. Unless it was another test. Could it be?
