The Pain Of Being Betrayed Never Truly Goes Away

-------- -------- ❄️ -------- --------

The chains around Edmund's legs were tight, so tight he knew there would be bruising. He felt terrible for what he had done, yet not as terrible as the food tasted. The boy spat out the food, before going to take a sip of the drink, which turned out to be ice.

Yes, he was probably treated differently than the other prisoners, only because he was young, and not a Narnian.

He couldn't help but think of his siblings. Were they safe? Did they get to Aslan? Surely they'd notice he was gone and try to get help.

"Are you going to eat that?" a voice asked.

Edmund pushed the tray containing his food. He watched as the faun started eating as if he hadn't seen food for years. Edmund scrunched up his face confused as the faun continued to eat. How he could enjoy the food was a mystery. It was horrid.

The faun- A faun. 'Wasn't Lucy's friend a faun? The one she met when she first arrived?' "Mr Tumnus?"

The faun turned to Edmund, his eyes wide. He may not have seen the boy before, yet he recognised him, he did share similar traits with his sister. He also looked a lot like the description of Earthan. Dark curly hair, dark eyes, if only they shared the same power.

"You're Lucy's brother."

"Edmund," the human mumbled. He didn't want, or like being compared to his siblings, not even Lucy. She was younger than him, therefore he was better. That was how Peter acted. He was the oldest so he was the best.

Oh how he'd give anything for Peter to boss him around right now. How he'd love to here the older boy bicker with his smart sister. He'd love to hear Lucy's voice, or have the girl pull him into a tight embrace.

"How is she?" The faun questioned, ignoring the boy's bitter tone. "Is she safe?"

"I- I don't know," Edmund admitted. He looked down to the ground. He didn't know if his siblings were safe, or if the Witch had found them. He was praying that they were okay, that he'd reunite with them soon.

The door to the dungeons opened with a loud bang and everything became silent. The two were scared that Jadis had arrived, though Edmund was relieved at the sight of Aurora. She may have been the Witch's niece, yet he found her to be less intimidating.

"Hello," Aurora spoke in a soft voice. Edmund fought back a smile at her soft tone. He was still a prisoner and while she wasn't the witch, she was the heir to the throne.

Mr Tumnus glared at the girl. " You should not be here. I cannot help you. I will not give you what you want." Aurora let out a single chuckle as she shook her head. "Silly Faun, you are not the one I'm here to see. You possess no interest to me."

Aurora pushed a bowl towards Edmund. He looked between the bowl and the girl, unsure what to say. He wasn't sure if it was poisoned. She was evil, she was trained to be evil.

A small smile was on Aurora's face as she realised he wasn't sure whether or not to trust her. Finally he was starting to be smart. "Unfortunately I am not hungry. I thought the newest prisoner may like food."

Edmund smiled as he took the food, eating it quickly. Aurora took the opportunity to ask him a couple of things that interested her. "You said you had four siblings, correct?"

"There's four of us altogether," Edmund told her as he continued to gulp down the soup. "I see," Aurora said with a smile. "And, are you the oldest?"
