Life Without You Isn't Worth Living

-------- -------- ❄️ -------- --------

Many years had passed, almost ten years. Aurora had aged with the siblings, something she found strange. She didn't question the magic of Narnia.

Lucy had grown to love the girl like a sister. She would often spend time walking through the gardens with the girl. The two both enjoyed the nature, the plants, the flowers.

Susan still didn't like Aurora, she didn't trust the girl, though she was only protecting her brother's heart.

Peter was madly in love with Aurora, all, apart from the girl herself, were aware of the boy's feelings. Aurora was his Queen in the eyes of Narnian's, even Edmund agreed.

Edmund and Aurora had become best friends, he was the closest one to the girl by far. The two would always protect each other, fight side by side. While Edmund was the best Swordsmen in all of Narnia, Aurora was the only one who came close to him.

The best friends would often fight together, Edmund always beating the girl, before helping her to her feet. Of course, if she were to use her powers, she would win.

Aurora was walking through the garden, Lucy by her side, carrying a basket. They were picking flowers to put in their rooms. The girl's both loved nature, the different coloured flowers brightening their rooms.

"Are you joining us when we go for our quest?" Lucy asked her fellow Queen. Aurora looked at the girl confused. "Quest?" "For the white stag of course!" Lucy giggled out.

"Oh." Aurora knew they were searching for the infamous White Stag, though she wasn't informed they knew of its whereabouts. "I was not informed."

"Strange," Lucy mumbled. "I told Susan to tell you."

It made sense to Aurora why she didn't know, Susan barely spoke to her, only if she had to. Susan didn't like her, she never had, for reasons unknown to the High Queen. "I'm afraid your sister does not like me."

"Susan is scared Peter's heart will be broken by you," Lucy told her, confusing the woman once more. "But why would I break the heart of the king, whom I see as a brother?" "That is why she's afraid. Peter has feelings for you," Lucy said.

A sigh escaped Aurora's mouth as she looked down. She didn't want to hurt the man, she cared for him, unfortunately not the way he did her. "I'm afraid they are not returned."

Lucy smirked. She was the only one who knew the truth about Aurora, something she wasn't sure the girl knew herself.  "I know, though he does not."

"How awful it must be," Aurora mumbled. "Unrequited love is a terrible thing to suffer." "Do you speak from experience?" Lucy teased. The older Queen gave her a look, one that made her smile. "No need to worry, your secret is safe with me."

Lucy somehow found out her secret, a secret she never wanted anyone else to figure out.

The Castle was extraordinarily warm. Aurora was using her powers to cool the castle, she was becoming weak, not only due to the overbearing heat, but the over usage of her power.

Peter rushed over to the Queen, who held her staff in her hand. "Aurora, you must come with me. We're all going out."

"Yes, of-" Aurora stopped speaking as she felt a wave of nausea. She began to fall, only for Peter to catch her.

The High King carried the Queen to her room, placing her down on the bed. He left her, as he went to the doctor, making him examine her. Peter never left her side, not as the doctor did the examination.

"She has a fever," the doctor told him. "She must stay in bed."

The door opened with a loud bang, Edmund rushed in, kneeling next to the girl. "What happened?" he asked, worried for his best friend. He grabbed her hand, hissing at the heat.

"She's burning up," he mumbled. "She has a fever," Peter told his brother. "We have to cool her down." The younger King stood up, while Peter stared at him, confused. "Of course we do, she's suffering-" "No," Edmund interrupted him. "Her power is ice. If she gets too warm, she will lose her powers and possibly her life."

Peter stared at his brother shocked. He often forgot that the two were still close, even after all the years they've been royalty. The bond between Aurora and Edmund was unbreakable.

Lucy and Susan entered the room, the latter looking impatient. "Are we leaving or not?" "I can't leave her," Edmund mumbled. "She's my best friend, she needs me more."

Aurora, who had just gained consciousness looked at the boy. "Go." The two kings stared at her. "I'll be here, waiting to hear how Lucy won once more."

Lucy giggled, while the two kings smiled. She was still making jokes, even when she was extremely ill. "I always win," Lucy boasted, while her sister rolled her eyes.

Susan walked out of the room, while Lucy smiled at Aurora. "Get well soon." Aurora nodded her head, before Lucy followed Susan.

Peter kissed Aurora's head, before following his sisters. Edmund stared down at his best friend. "I don't want you to be alone," he mumbled. "I'm never alone, Edmund. You're always with me in spirit."

"I promise I'll be back soon." He placed a kiss on her head, before following his siblings. He truly believed he would see her again, when he could brag about catching the stag.

Aurora had been in bed two days, she was unaware of all that had happened during that time. She left her bed, only to see others running around as if chaos had occurred.

"What on Narnia is going on?!"

Everyone turned to the Queen. "We have some terrible news. The Kings and Queens are missing."

Aurora's eyes widened at the news. Edmund and the rest of the siblings were missing.

"We go searching, immediately. Prepare my horse." The Queen turned away and nobody questioned her. She was the only royalty they had left.

Aurora led the search party. They searched all over Narnia, yet they couldn't find them. Aurora made her way to a spot only her and Edmund knew. 'Perhaps he would go there. He knows I'll search for him, them.'

When Aurora made her way to the mountain, to the tree with golden berries, she sighed. It was the only place she could think to search.

"What is this place?" Someone questioned, yet she paid no attention to them.

Aurora got off her horse and put her hand on the tree. The magic flowed through her veins, yet instead of feeling strong, like she normally did, she felt weaker than she ever had.

A gently breeze started moving the Queen. Once she was at the edge, she fell.

"No!"

The Queen could do nothing, but wait for her death. She wouldn't survive, she didn't want to survive without her friends.

The people of Narnia were left with nobody to turn to. Their Kings, their Queens, they were all gone.
