At the mall there are eight shoe stores. Foot wear, Adventure Shoes, Soles for souls, Crazy Kicks, Bright Soles, Lace Up, Pick Ups, and Love Shoes. Lace Up is the closest to main doors and has lace in the name, which was in the clue. They sold all different colored laces, including red ones. Sam and Alana looked around the store's layout. The front of the store was open with a wall on the left and right, covered in shelves of shoes and laces. The center of the store was devoted to shelves and shelves of laces. The store had to two back rooms. Alana and Sam snuck behind the registers and past the workers. Alana went through the first back door, and Sam went through the other. There were seven bins full of merchandise in the back. The first bin was full of converse, the second was full of vans, the third was full of Tennis Shoes, the fourth was full of Air Jordans, the fifth was full of Nikes, the sixth was full of Adidas, and the seventh was full of laces. Sam was on this side of the door, in the presence of these seven bins. He pulled open the one full of laces and picked out all of the red ones. In all, there were twenty three pairs of red laces. Sam thought, could this number have something to do with the mystery? Could this number be the solution to where Grace was hidden?
Alana stepped through the door. Their were shelves covered in numbers. There were rows of one number, all in one color. Thirty seven in purple, nineteen in green, forty eight in blue, twenty seven in Orange, Eighty eight in yellow, and twenty three in red. What could these numbers mean? At that thought, Sam busted through the door. "Alana! I found shoe laces, and there were twenty three red laces, I counted them." He said. " I was just wondering what these numbers were for, but now I know! Twenty three is written in red all down the shelves." Alana says. "What does twenty three red laces mean?" Sam asked. "Say that again, I think I've got something." Alana said. "Twenty three red laces." Sam said. "Twenty Three Red Aces!!!! Sam, don't you see? Grace is hidden there! She's hidden in that card deck store called Twenty Three Red Aces!" Alana says. "No way! Alana you're so genius! Let's go, it's at the other end of the mall." Sam says. And with that, they're off.
