It's Christmas time here in Oak Parks, and everything's beginning to take place. The lights are all strung up along the roof tops, and candy canes are hung high among the windows, house lights are seasonally changed to red and green. Alana had been sitting in her living room, watching her mother string the lights on the Christmas Tree. There are only thirty six days until Christmas morning. When Alana would lie awake in her bed early morning and wake up her mom and brother, and rush downstairs to the Christmas Tree. Then she'd visit her dad who lived just ten minutes from her house. He lived in Glenn Oak Parks, while Alana, who lived mostly with her mother, lived in just plain Oak Parks. Alana didn't like her dad sometimes. He had been the reason why Alana had two different homes, one of which she'd usually stay in. She'd have to visit her Dad soon, in fact, she knew exactly how many days, just fifteen. Her father had one day began to shout at her mother. He'd argued about who was a better parent. Well that was it. "If you're such a great parent, why don't you live on your own, huh? Raise our children by yourself, see how great of a parent you are then!" Her mother had shouted, irritated. " I will!" Her father shouted back. That was the last she saw of her Dad until months later.
