Roary
Kayla's pov}

"Are you okay? You've been kinda distant lately." I said walking up to Josh.
"Yeah. I'm fine." He said reaching for his phone and then walking away.

Whatever. What's wrong with him!

I run of to last hour. Gym.

I haven't played in a while and today is our first game.
Yay!
"Hey Matt." I say walking out of the locker room.
"Hey." He laughed.
"What." I say scrunching my eyebrows.
"Your eyeliner. It's messed up." I grinned.
"Well if they had a freaking mirror in our locker room, I wouldn't have this problem." I laughed a walked to the boys locker room.

It was the one that no one used. I knock just to be sure. When there was no answer I walk in.

As in fixing my right eye someone walks in.

"Oh. Sorry." An Irish boy said.

He's part of the basketball team, but I've never talked to him. I didn't know his name either.

"Sorry. My makeup was messed up." I laugh.
"It's alright Kayla. In Roary."
"Hi Roary.." I smile and then walk out.

Later everyone is out and coach calls.

"Different coaches today.... Let's see." He said and scans the room.
"Roary... And Brittan. Pick your teams. Roary pick first." Coach says.

"Kayla." Roary says.

I walk up to him.
"Who do I pick?" He says as Brittany decides.
"I don't know. Pick your friends." I say to him.
"I don't have any friends.. Everyone here hates me." He said quitely.

Britt picks Josh and I whisper to Roary who to pick.
Coach doesn't like when we tell the captain who to pick.

Roary was really good at basketball. He knew what to call and we ended up winning our scrimmage 28-24. Everyone else in the gym might have not liked him, but he just got a new friend. Me.

The players on our team still didn't like him. Even after we won. I wonder why.

I quickly get dressed and wait for Roary outside his locker room.

"Hey babe, you ready?" Josh asked me.
"I'm waiting for Roary." I smile to him.
"Roary? As in Roary Hudson?" Josh questioned.
"Yeah, why?" I say.
"Because he's a loser. No one likes him." Josh said.
"He's not a loser. He's kinda cool. And I like him so does that make me a no one?" I say

Roary is a better basketball player than Josh. He doesn't get any credit for it either.

"Oh, okay. What is he your new boyfriend. You're going to stick up for him." Josh said angrily. I looked at him like he was crazy. "Well just get him to take you home. I'm leaving." Josh said and stormed off.

What's wrong with him. Did he go crazy?

As Josh said the last part Roary came out. He tried to avoid what was happening but he couldn't.

"What was that all about." He said in his iris accent.
"I told him I was waiting for you and he went all crazy." I said.
"Whys that?" He said.
"I have no idea." I said looking at the way Josh left.

"So I'm guessing you're going to need a ride home?" He said.
"Yeah. But you don't have to take me. I can walk." I smile.
"I'll take ya." He said.

Roary and I walked out to his car and drove to my house.
I just couldn't stop thinking about how Josh was acting. Did I do something?

"We're here." Roary said snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Thanks Roary." I smile.
"Anytime." He laughed.
"Do you wanna come in and stay until the game?" I ask.
"Sure." Roary smiled.

My brothers were already home. They leave at 2:00 to get home by three. I guess their classes are over by then.

I walk into the house and put my bag on the couch.
My brothers look at Roary like he was an Alien. This made me laugh and Roary get embarrassed.

"Guys this is Roary. Roary these are my brothers. Kaden, Kian, and Kalin." I said in order of how they are sitting.
"Already done with Josh?" Kalin asked casually.
"What? No. Roary is just a friend. Something is wrong with Josh. He freaked out on me and wouldn't take me home." I said.
"Wait, what?" Kian asked confused.
"He freaked out and stormed off. He told me to have Roary take me home." I shrugged.
"Do you know why?" Kian asked.

I thought for a second.
"No. He asked me if I was ready to leave and I told him I was waiting for Roary and then he freaked out and left." I say.
"Oh." Kian said.

They go back to doing homework. I walk into the kitchen and Roary follows me.
"Do you have any homework?" I asked.
"Yeah. I have a bit of geometry." He said.
"Yeah. Me too. Wanna do it together?" I ask.
"Sure. I'll go get my books." He said and walked out to his car.

He and I both had the same work, so we split it. I do the first eight, he does the last seven. Easy enough.

We got it done quickly and then exchanged answers. He and I were one by 3:40. We didn't have to be back at the school until five, so we went to the living room and watched the boys do their homework.

Kian was finished so Roary and him played FIFA 2k15 while I tried to help Kalin with his work. He had to do geometry and I've always been good at that, him, not so much.

My alarm soon went off. 4:30.

"Hey we need to go so we can get to the game." I say to Roary.
"We're coming too!" Kian said.
"Why." I ask.
"We wanna see you play. And you too Roary." Kian said.

Roary smiled nervously.
"He's actually better than Josh." I say.
"Must be pretty good." Kalin smiled.
"The only thing is, he doesn't get recognized for it." I said.
"Really?" Kaden said.
"Coach has always been good at letting the good people play." Kaden continued.
"No, letting the popular good people play." I say.
"You're not popular?" Kian asked with a smirk.

I have no idea why, but he did.

"No. Kayla is literally my only friend. And that just happened today." He laughed.
"Wait. Whoever said we were friends." I say.

Roary had an embarrassment look on his face. Then he looked sad.

"I'm only kidding Roary!" I laughed and hugged him.
"Okay, good. You scared me for a second." He laughed.
"Okay! Let's go!" I say.

I rode with Roary. The boys rode together in a different car.

As we pull up so does Josh. He looks at me angrily.
"Kayla can I talk to you?" Josh said.
"Sure." I say walking over to him.
"Why are you with him!" He said.
"Because you told me to go with him! You left me here and told me to have him take me!" I said.
"Yeah. Take you home. Not home and then to the game." He said.
"What's wrong with you Josh. There is nothing between Roary and I! He's just my friend." I said.
"Whatever." He said.
"That's like me saying your going out with Jacob!" I say.
"Whatever Kayla." He said and slammed the door of his truck.
"You're the one in the wrong here Josh." I said and joined Roary.

We go inside. The boys but their tickets. I go get dressed.
Then all of the opposing team showed up.
