Confidence: seventeen
Gone.
I wake up and put on a red skater skirt and a black croptop. I pulled the skirt up enough so you wouldn't see my skin.

I hurry and run down the stairs and out the door. I walk to school getting there five minutes before the bell rings. I scurry off to my first class.

I didn't realize that Roary was in every single one of my classes. I also didn't know that he has been going to my school for four years.

I knew this wasn't his first year... but four? I had no idea!

By last hour it was time for gym.
Us girls scrimmaged the boys.

We lost by one point.

The score was 34-33.

We were really close though!

Our game today started at 3:30, so I didn't go home. I ran to the locker room and changed. All of the other girls went home. As I pulled of my shirt I heard the door shut. I looked back at the door and saw Roary.

What's he doing in here?

He walked over to me not giving me a chance to put on my shirt.

He came and placed his cold hands on my hips. My breath hitched in my throat.
He unexpectedly placed his lips on mine.

I didn't expect this from him but I kissed back. When he pulled away he looked me in my eyes.

"I'm sorry." He said.
"What?" I said.
"For kissing you." He said looking away from me.
"It's fine Roary." I say.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes." I smile.
"Okay I'm going to go now." He said and walked out the door.

That was weird.

I finish changing and the rest of the girls filed in and begun to change. I grabbed my phone and walked out the door.

I walk over to my brothers that had just walked through the door and handed Kalin my phone.

I never leave my phone in the locker room. I don't trust some of those girls.

Okay, I don't trust any of them.

About twenty minutes later we started the game.

It was the third quarter of the game. We were in the lead.
42-31.
I was dribbling the ball down the court when I glanced over and saw my brother, Kian, on the phone.

I passed the ball to Emily as all of the boys walked over to me. Coach called a time out and called me over.

Then I got the news.
The horrible, dreadful news.
I broke down crying.
Right then and there. I didn't care who saw me. This was the worst day ever. Next to mom when she passed.

"Dads gone." Kian said.

But he wasn't crying. I could see in his eyes how much he wanted to.

I see Roary run up to me as I fall into my brothers arms.

"I'm sorry." Kian whispered to me.

"Let's go home." Kian said.

I turn and hug Roary. I cry into his chest. I didn't stop.

"Come with me?" I ask him.
"Okay." He said and kisses my head.

We all walk out to the car. We pile in and I sit next to Roary. I wrapped my arms around him and cried harder.

When we finally got home we all sit in the living room. I was currently hugging Kaden when he started talking.

"Can I tell you a story?" Kaden asked.
"Yeah." I chocked.

"Dad told me a story when mom died. He told me that after they got married they both went to a church and got saved together. Dad was already saved but wanted to do it again with mom.
So you know what means." He said.

"Yeah." I say still crying.
"It means they're both together in heaven. Probably having a party while we're crying. We'll see then again." Kaden said.
"It wasn't his time Kaden." I cry.
"Yes it was. If it wasn't then it wouldn't have happened. God doesn't make mistakes." Kaden whispered.

"Why did this happen. Why now? I wasn't ready to lose them." I say.

After a while we were all in the floor hugging.

I later found out how he died.

He was in a car crash. It wasn't his fault though. It was with a drunk driver. The other guy lived. He lived! It should have been the other way around.

This shouldn't have happened.

"We go to the funeral home tomorrow to see him, and plan the funeral." Kian says.
"How are we going to even pay for this." I say.
"His insurance should cover all of it and leave us some."

"What about the house, and the car." I ask.
"They are both paid off." Kian said.
"All three cars?" I ask.
"Yeah." He said.

I stand up and walk up to my room. Roary followed me and told me that he was leaving. I begged him to stay. It didn't take much to make him stay.

We both just curled up in my bed. I had finally stopped crying.

"I love you." Roary said and kissed my lips.

I didn't say anything. I didn't feel like talking. I was to tired. I just laid there thinking of this.

I can't believe they are both gone. Gone.
