Confidence- chapter eleven
Bet

{July}

It's summer! Today is July 21, my birthday! I'm 17 today! Josh's birthday is July 16 so he's literally only one week older than me.

'Hey baby! It's finally your birthday! Yay! You're 17. I'll be at your house in about 2 hours. I love you beautiful.' Josh texted me about an hour and 20 minutes ago.

I told the guys that I didn't want to have a party I just wanted to hang out with them.
As I sat on the couch the doorbell rang. I groan and get up to answer it.
It was Josh.
"Happy birthday." He said
"Thanks." I smiled.

Josh and I sit on the couch and then the doorbell rang again.
"Joshhh." I groan.
"Fine, I'll get it." He said and stood up.

"Oh hi Josh." I heard and girl say from the front door.

A few seconds later three people walk in. These people being Josh, Lizzy, and Jimmy.

"Hey guys what are you doing here?" I ask.
"We wanted to hang out with you." They say.
"Oh." I smile.

Then the three boys come charging down the stairs. Amanda did too. Kaden comes running up to me. He jumped on my lap. Then he just lays there. Not moving at all. I laugh and try to push him off. I end up failing and he's still on me.

After about 3 hours of watching tv and playing video games Amanda, Lizzy, and Jimmy left. Josh and I went upstairs to my room.

"Hey, do you want to go get you birthday present?" Josh asked.
"What is it?" I ask.
"It's a surprise." He smiled.
"Where is it?" I ask.
"My house." He said.
"Kay, let's go." I say.

We walk downstairs and say goodbye to the boys. We walk to his car and then drive to his house.

We walk in and his parents told me happy birthday. I thanked them then Josh and I ran up the stairs. He sat me on his bed. He walked towards his closed bathroom door.

"Close your eyes." He said.
I closed my eyes. A few moments later he placed a huge box in front of me.
"Okay." He said.
I opened my eyes and looked at the box.
Confused he told me to open it.

I opened it and this little object attached to my arm.
"Josh!" I yell thankfully.
"What are you going to name him?" He asked me.
"I don't know, what do you think." I ask.

He took a moment and stared at the little kitten. It was black and white. It kinda looked like it had a mask on. It was the cutest little thing.

"Bandit?" He questioned.
"Okay." I smile.
Bandit. His name is bandit. He's so cute.

I sat it down on the floor. It runs over to a pile of dirty clothes and lays in it. We look at him for a few minutes then you could hear his soft purs. So cute!

"Thank you Josh." I smile.
"You're welcome." He kissed my lips.

I stood up and pulled him into a hug.
"I love you." I say.

He kissed me and pushed me against the wall. My breath hitched and he kissed me again. He pulled at my shirt. Then he took my shirt off.

"Looks like you were planning something like this." He smirked.
I laugh and then kiss him again.

Feeling up and down my body he stopped mid make out.

He looked away from me and then picked up my shirt off the floor.
"Put your shirt back on." He said not looking at me.

I suddenly felt my self confidence lower. I was embarrassed so much right now. Like did I do something wrong?

"I'm sorry Kayla." He said.
"What." I ask.
"I shouldn't have done that. We're not married and I can't ruin your life by getting you pregnant."

I didn't want to me close to him so I slid down the wall landing on my butt.

"I'm sorry Josh." I say.
"It wasn't your fault." He smiled.
"It was both of our faults." I smiled.
"Yeah." He said.
"We're not going to say anything to anyone about this. Not even your guy friends. Or my brothers." I say.
"K." He smiled.

I grab my cat and we walk downstairs. We drive home in awkward silence. I wanted to say something but I was afraid.

As we got to my house Josh came in also. We just went to the living room. In guessing that Kian could since something was wrong. I guess I was being pretty awkward. Josh and I weren't talking really, and I was just looking off into space.

"Kayla, can I talk to you?" Kian said standing up.
"Um yeah." I say and my face heats up. I glance at Josh and he was red to.

Kian pulls me into the kitchen where no one could hear us.

"Are you okay?" Kian asked.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be." I say. I'm a good actor, but Kian knows when I'm not telling the truth.
"I don't know." He squints.
"Well why do you think I'm not okay?" I ask.
"You and Josh aren't sitting close and you're just quiet. Did something happen at his house?" He questioned.

"No Kian. I'm fine. Nothing happened." I shrug him off.

He's slacking. He can't tell. Yay me!

"Okay, sorry. I just want you to know you can tell me anything. No matter what. If it's something that I might get angry for I promise I won't. I just need you to trust me." He said.
"I promise I will tell you." I say and hug him.

"I love you." I smile into his chest.
"I love you too." He kissed my hair.

He and I walk back into the living room and I lay next to Kian. Every once in awhile I would glance at Josh, and every once in a while I would catch him looking at me.

They were all playing Halo. Gosh, do they not have a life! I'm just kidding. I love halo.

After a long time I dosed off to sleep. I felt someone pick me up and carry me to my bed. I didn't have the energy to even open my eyes. I have no idea who it was either, but they brought me my kitten.

Bandit snuggled into my neck and I fall into a long sleep.

The next morning~

I woke up to a text from Josh.

'Hey baby.' It read.
'Heyy.' I replied.
'Sorry for bringing this up, buttt. I really am sorry for last night.' He said.
'It's fine! It was fun.' I laugh as I send it.
'Fun?' He texted.
'Yeah.'
'How so?'
'Because we're teasing each other.'
'Kinda.' He said.
'This seems like something we would bet over.' I smirk.
"Wanna?' He replied quickly.
'Okay. We can't tell anyone.' I said.
'Let's see who breaks first.' He texted.
I didn't reply.
'I'll be over in a little bit.' He texted.

This is so stupid for us to bet over, but it will be fun.
I go and shower.
I wonder who's going to fall first. It's going to me him. No doubt!
How are we even going to tell who wins? This makes no since. Oh well! It will be fun.
