Confidence~ chapter nine
Girlfriend?

I woke up the next morning to Kaden still wrapped around me. Silently sleeping I quietly get up. I woke him on accident he got up and went downstairs.

I check the time. It was only 10:15 and Josh already texted me.

I read his sweet text.

'Good morning Beautiful :)
I know your probably not awake yet but when you do text me.
What time are we going to the Gym?
Love you gorgeous.'

His sweet text gave me goosebumps, and butterflies. I smiled and went to get ready after I texted back.

'Aww good morning. I'm getting ready now so can you come get me and then we will go.' I sent it then went to change.

I put on workout pants and a place v-neck t-shirt. I put my hair up and walk downstairs.

I get some cereal.
As I was finishing eating the doorbell rang.
I walked and opened the door.
Josh walks in and Kaden walked in the room.

"Hey bud." Kaden says.
"Hey man." Josh said with a smile.
"What are Y'all doing today?" Kaden asked.
"Gym." I let Josh answer.
"Nice." Kaden nodded and walked up to me.

He hugged me and kissed my cheek then Josh and I left to go workout.

"When you go to the gym what do you do. Weights or Cardio?" He asked.
"I always do cardio." I say.
"Yeah, me to. The only time I lift is at school when we all workout together." He said.
"Yeah." I smile and we ride the rest of the way in quiet.

It wasn't an awkward silence but more like a comforting quite.

We pull up to the gym and we get out.
I walk in front of him. I could see him looking at my butt in the glass door.

I turned around and stopped him from walking.
He smirked.
"You're not slick." I laugh.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned.
"I saw you looking in the door." I said.
"Sorry." He said and leaned down and pecked my lips.

What are we now? Are we a couple or... I don't know, I'll wait until he brings it up. I don't want to make it awkward by me asking.

We walked in and sign in. We walk into the cardio center. I pull my hair up and get on one of the machines.

After three hours off working out I got bored and laid down on the cold hard floor. Soon Josh stopped and sat by me. My shirt was raised a bit at my hip. I didn't realize but Josh obviously did.

"Um Kayla?" He said.
"Yeah." I say.
"What's this?" He said as he touched my hip.
"Nothing." I say quickly and cover the skin.
"Are you ready to leave?" He asked.
"Yes." I say.

Shit! Shit! Shit! I hope he didn't realize what those were. I cut, yes. I didn't want anyone to find out. I really hope he didn't see that. Liz knows I did it once, but she though i stopped.

I might be the star of our girls basketball team but that doesn't mean people like me. It draws attention to me. Causing people to talk and or bully me. It's mostly the skinny perfect cheerleaders or Josh's friend Jakob. Josh doesn't know what Jakob has done.

He's pushed me to the ground and kicked me. The cheerleaders just talk about me. Except this one girl last year. Her name is Katelyn, she was horrible. She was bad to me.

I also cut because I missed my brothers. Every time I got depressed about not seeing them I cut. Dad doesn't even know.

We get into Josh's car.
He didn't say anything. He just drove. He looked like he was thinking about something. He drives and drives. Twenty minutes later we pull up to a house slightly smaller than mine. It was Josh's house. I love his house. It's so perfect looking.

I look to him and he gets out of the car. I get out also and we walk to his front door. We walk in and his mom greets up.

"Hello Kayla." His mom says.
"Hi." I smile.
"What have you guys been doing?" She asked.
"We went to the gym." Josh said.
"Cool, you guys can go up to your room if you want." She said.

His parents are really strict. He's usually not aloud to have any girl over unless they are there. Also he's not supposed to be in his room with a girl alone.

Josh smiled and we walked up the stairs to his room. I sat on the floor and he did to.

"Kayla we need to talk." He said.
"About what?" I ask as I fiddled my thumbs.
"This." He said and lifted my shirt slightly.
"I don't want to Josh." I say.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Can you just promise me you'll never do it again?" He asked.
"I don't know. I'll try." I say.
"Why can't you." He said.
"I promise Josh." I say as my eyes fill with tears.
"Thank you." He said.

I stand up. Then he stands. A tear slipped down my cheek and I talk.

"Can you take me home now?" I ask.
"No. I don't want to. I want you to stay." He said.

He grabbed my hips and leaned his head on my forehead. He kissed my lips. I pushed away.

"What even is this?" I ask.
"What is what." He said.
"What are we!" I say a little louder.
"Well I kinda thought we were dating." He said.
"Why would you think that?" I ask.
"I don't know." He said looking down.
"I mean you didn't even ask me to be your girlfriend." I say.
"Kayla?" He said scrunching his eyebrows.
"What." I say getting irritated.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He said pulling me to a hug.
"Yeah." I say.

That didn't just surprise him, but me. I didn't know that I liked him this much. I didn't want to like him this much. It just kind of happened.

He went and laid on his bed. I followed him and we cuddled together. I fell asleep slowly. I guess Josh did the same.
