Chapter fourteen- confidence
Anna.

After our win I change. I go knock on the boys locker room door.

Jacob answered.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Can you tell Josh that I need to talk to him." I say.
"Sure." He said and went to get him.

A few seconds later Josh came out.
"What?" He said rudely.
"I just came to say I'm sorry." I said.
"Okay." He said.

Is he not going to say it's okay. Is he really that mad? What has gotten into him?

"Alright?" I said and walked over by my brothers.

I sit down by Kaden.

The boys came out with the cheerleaders cheering.

Josh kept stumbling over himself and missing his shots.
Roary still hasn't played yet.
The score was 18-32 only in the first quarter.

Then coach called a timeout. Josh got say on the bench. I was looking for who replaced him. It was Roary. Josh looked so mad.

Pulling the team to a win. Roary was congratulate by no one but me and my brothers. The final score was 56-38. All of the points except for 22 were made from Roary.

Why is everyone not thanking him. Congratulating him?

All of the guys stayed on the court. Including the cheerleaders and me. I was talking to the coach when I saw something.

Something that hurt me.
Badly.

Josh. Kissing a cheerleader.
I stop talking to coach and walk over to Josh.

"Is this why you've been acting weird?" I ask Josh.
"What are you talking about. Anna is only my friend." He said.

He said while he kissed her. He kissed her! Not on the cheek but the lips.

I walk away before I start crying. A tear slipped from my eye though. I turned around before either of them saw it.

I hustle off to my brothers. Roary chased after me.

"Kayla! Kayla, are you okay. What's wrong?" Roary asked grabbing my shoulder.
"Josh." I said and looked away.
"Sorry." Roary said and I just walked away.

I found my brothers and they looked at me shocked.

"I'll tell you later, let's just leave." I say.

They said nothing, they turned around and we left.
I went to my room really upset after telling the guys what happened. After a while Kaden came to my room and told me to come downstairs with them. He told me that staying in my room wasn't going to make me feel any better.

I agreed with him and joined my brothers downstairs. As soon as I sat down the doorbell rang. Kaden had not sat down yet.

Kaden walked to the door and opened it. I heard him talking.

"I don't think she wants to see you right now." Kaden said.
"Please. I need to talk to her."
"No. I'm sorry. She's really upset right now." Kaden said.

I got up and walked to the door right as Kaden was shutting it.
He looked at me confused and I signaled for him to leave us to talk.

Josh and I stepped outside to talk.

"Kayla I'm sorry." Josh said.
"For what." I say cluelessly even though I know.
"You know what for." He said.
"Oh, the part where you became a total ass-butt and kissed another girl?" I said sarcastically.
"Yeah, but you can't even talk! You were hanging out with Roary just like that." He said.

I looked at him.
"No Josh, I wasn't. I didn't hang out with him until you ditched me at school. Today was the first time I ever even talked to him!" I stated.
"And why was it that you talked to him? Because you thought he was hot?" He said angrily.

What!

"Josh! Your blowing this was out of proportion! The only reason I talked to him was because he bumped into me and I was nice. I wasn't like you and all the other jerk holes at school! He literally has no friends! Except for the one that he got today. Which is me!" I said.

Yes I did lie about him bumping into me, but if I said 'he walked into the locker room while I was in there' it would have just seemed wrong.

"The reason everyone hates him is because he try's to be good at something he's not! Like basketball." Josh shouted.

"Woah! Josh you're wrong about him being bad at the sport. Quiet frankly he's better than you!" I said.

"Yeah whatever . I'm right about this all." He said.

Wow! What a jerk.

"Well if you can't see that you're the one in the wrong here then I'm just wasting my time on an immature boy. Which means this relationship won't work out." I said.

"I guess it won't work out." Josh snickers. "I already have a side chick waiting to get all up on me. Something you wouldn't do." He said.

"Your loss." I said and walked back inside.

He got in his car and sped away.

"Are things good between you two now?" Kian asked as I sat down.

"Yeah. Every thing is fine because we're not dating anymore." I said.
"Kayla, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine right now. I'll probably be sad later but I'm okay." I say.
"Alright." He said with a smile.

I text Roary
"Hey man. Wanna come over." I say.
"Yeah sure." He replied quickly.

I tell my brothers that he was coming over. They looked at me unsure if that was that was the right call. I told them that nothing was going to happen.

He and I are just friends anyways. Right?

"I think it's kinda weird you didn't call Liz or something. I mean she is a girl and guys don't like it when girls vent over things." Kalin said.

"I'm not going to vent. I'm not going to say anything unless he asks. And if he does I'll just tell him and then end the conversation." I say.

As I finish my sentence the doorbell rang. I walked to open the door and Kian followed. I could see Kian giving Roary the death stare.

Roary didn't look intimidated at all. I chuckle and Kian shoved me playfully.

Roary and I walked upstairs to my room. I sit on the floor and so does Roary.

"Did you call me here for s certain reason or did you just want to hang?" He asked.
"Just to hang I guess." I say.

It was Friday night so it was all good.
"What happened with you and Josh. If you don't mind me asking." He asked.

"He and I broke up because at the game he kissed another girl. Then came to my house and tried to apologize." I say.
"So you broke up with him?" He asked.
"I really don't know." I laugh.

He chuckled and then we went downstairs with the guys to watch a movie.

It was easy talking them into the movie I wanted to watch. I wanted to watch 'not cool' by Shane Dawson. It's a 'dirty comedy' movie.

"Let's watch Not cool." I yell.
"Isn't that movie bad?" Kalin asked.
"Yeah, so." I say.
Roary laughed.
"Yeah, let's watch that! I've been wanting to see it." Kaden said.
"All in favor." I laugh.

Everyone rose their hands.
