Epilogue

(5 years later)

Shelby and Scott didn't actually think this day would end up happening, but they wouldn't have it any other way. Of course, only their friends knew about their deal to get married if they were still single by the time Scott was 30.

Shelby walks down the aisle, all of their close friends had come, even friends from other dimensions. They weren't in X-Life anymore, they all moved to different worlds after they all lost their lives.

The new world that Shelby and Scott were placed into still didn't have a name, but they found it easy to settle in here because of the beautiful scenery.

Scott takes Shelby's hands as she reaches the alter. Gemini had offered to be the priest in this situation. The 29-year-old dear/elf hybrid smiles as the two friends hold hands and picks up her book. She wasn't experienced in this, at all, so she had to write down everything she would need to say.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of these two friends. I don't think they expected this day to happen, but I can tell that they are happy that this is what their life has come to" she says.

Scott and Shelby nod in reply with smiles on their faces. They wouldn't have it any other way.

"Do you have any words for one another?" Gemini questions.

"I'll start" Scott smiles, "I met Shelby when I was 21, almost 22, when we were both teleported to the world that was known as One Life. We became close friends, we travelled to the Nether together, I remember when she fell off the side of the fortress" he chuckles. Shelby giggles, she remembers how she just sat there on the ground with wide eyes, and yelled 'I fell!' up at Scott as he looked over the edge.

"I was the one to come up with the idea to have this deal. I honestly didn't think Shelby would agree to it, but she was actually quite willing" he says. Shelby nods with a smile.

"I am happy with what life chose for us, and I wouldn't have it any other way" he says with a big smile.

Shelby nods with the same big smile and then begins her own speech. "I remember meeting you for the first time and having this feeling that we would have a special bond soon after, and that bond would never be broken. Sure, we have argued a couple times, but Scott, you are important to me and I don't want to lose you" she smiles gently.

Scott smiles and nods for her to continue. "I love you Scott, you're my best friend, and I wouldn't want to spend a special moment like this with anybody else..." she says, a small tear hinting in her eye. Of course, Shelby and Scott were not actually romantically in love, but there was nothing wrong with loving your friend platonically, it's part of life, and sometimes, life has its own plan.

A plan that Shelby and Scott wouldn't ever change.

"Alright then. Scott, do you take Shelby to be your wife until death do you part?" Gemini questions.

Scott nods, "I do".

"And Shelby, do you take Scott to be your husband, until death do you part?".

"I do" Shelby chirps with a nod of her head of dark red hair. All of the brown hair dye had finally disappeared from her hair, and she was back to her red hair. She didn't mind.

Gemini nods, "Then I pronounce you Husband and Wife!" she chirps. Shelby and Scott pull each other into a big hug, Scott having to lean down since he's almost a foot taller than Shelby. Shelby stands on her tiptoes, trying not to stand on the ends of her dress.

All of their friends cheered from the seats, standing up, clapping loudly.

As Shelby and Scott part, they take the rings and put them on each other's fingers before smiling and hugging again.

After a long after party and Scott decided to call it at a night at Scott's house. They got into bed after changing and fell asleep pretty much instantly, wrapped in each other's arms for the entire night and halfway into the next day, Shelby's face buried in Scott's shoulder as the moon shone down on the newlywed couple.

"Shelby" a voice came into Shelby's ears.

She opened her eyes and looked around to see Scott, "Time to wake up" he smiles. Shelby looks around more and sees that she's back in her bed in X-Life.

"Why am I having so many flashbacks... or visions of the future...?" she mumbles. This is the 5th vision she's had in the past week, ever since she woke up from her coma.

Does it mean something?

Well... at least she now knows that she will end up married to Scott. She smiles and sits up. "You okay?" Scott questions.

Shelby nods, "I'm fine" she says.

Scott nods and the two of them head down the ladder to the kitchen.

Thank you to everybody who read this story! It means a lot to me. 

I wanted the epilogue to really show a Shelby x Scott moment, which is why I did a 5 year time skip to their wedding, and then I decided to make it a vision that Shelby had, so now she knows that their wedding will happen.

Should I do a Shelby x Scott story sometime in the future? If I should, give me some ideas, because I have no idea what the theme should be lol :)
