Chapter Twelve- Old Friends in the Snowstorm

--------------- Tropical Kingdom ~ Akala Beach -----------------

Joey has been feeling something strange recently. He had woken up early on the morning on November 12th and went immediately to the beach. Something felt different that he was used to. Ever since he found his water powers, he felt something different, and as he looked into the water, he saw something shimmering at the bottom of it. He raises an eyebrow.

His curious nature began to get the better of him and he stood up before diving into the water, even though it was super cold from the snow. The Tropical Kingdom didn't have as much snow as the other kingdoms though, it was just a LOT colder than normal.

He opened his eyes and swam down. He had also learned that he can breathe under water and open his eyes without any problems. He found the shiny material and begin to dig it out from the rock. He gasps when he sees that it's a bunch of crystals. He reaches out to touch one, but then a spark of energy hits his hand and sends a powerful sensation through his body. He gasps and looks at himself as flows of energy washes over his body in waves of yellow, pink and blue.

He takes the crystals and goes up to the surface while trying to figure out what was happening to him. He didn't feel pain, but it felt like electricity. It suddenly calmed down and Joey took deep breaths.

"What was that...?" he mumbled quietly.

"You just..." a voice trailed off from behind him. Joey turned around to see the most powerful witch of the Tropical Kingdom.

"I just what?" he questions.

"You just... became the Crystal Witch" she tells Joey, "You gained the power of the Crystals" she says.

--------------- Desert Kingdom ~ Sandshire Castle ----------------

Shelby got back from her royal business and immediately started to get ready to go meet up with her old friends. It was getting a lot colder, and the snow was getting heavier, so Shelby knew she had to put on her thick jacket today. She opened her closet and pulls out her heavy jacket from the back, along with a pair of black leggings and a long-sleeved white top. She also grabs her brown snow boots and then begins to get ready. Chilled told her that they were meeting where Joel Canyon used to be, for some reason.

Once she had everything on, she then realised she would probably need a hat, scarf and gloves too, so she took off her crown and put it in a secret box, slipping it under her bed so if anybody were to sneak in, they wouldn't know where it was. She opens her closet again and pulls out a light blue hat, a dull dark blue scarf and matching gloves. She looked at herself in the mirror once she pulled them all on and then smiled, bringing her necklace out from under her scarf and laying it over her jacket so people could still see it.

She smiles and then walks out into the hallway to be met with Ross. "Ross?" she questions, "You okay?".

He nods, "I'm fine" he says, "I just came to let you know that...." He trails off, it was obvious that he was nervous to tell her, "Max and I are thinking about... moving away from Alvaria" he says.

Shelby stands straight, confusion in her eyes, "Why? Was it something I did!?" she questions, panic in her eyes.

Ross didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, but part of it was because of something Shelby did. Ross could never hate Shelby, she is his younger cousin after all, but he was angry at her for this.

He takes a deep breath, "It was... partially something you did" he says.

Shelby looks at him confused, "What did I do...?" she questions quietly.
